  1. now for the 4g63 out the sigma, what flywheel/clutch system do i use? do i use a 4g63 flywheel and clutch or the 4g32 flywheel and clutch?
  2. heres a bit of an update. got this last week and got it in the garage finally and pulled out the 1600 and started pulling the front end apart, ready to do a lil rust repair thanks to the poor setup of the window washer bottle and radiator bottle. And seam welding the engine bay wth full panel and paint. the other week i fitted new carpet. but not very happy how it turned out had to modify it a fair bit just to get it fitting right. so a the moment talking to autodec to try and get it sorted out. Brought some Evo 4 rear seats and dummy fitted them to see how much modifying will be need. the back part is pretty straight forward to go in just have to make a couple of new hooks where it looks into. but the bottom part is going to need a bit of shortnening and shaping around the wheel arches a bit to push them back. Now today the plan is to pull the motor out of the sigma and start stripping it for a rebuild. any pointers and help with this build up would be greatlly appreciated

    what wheel offset should i be looking for, for my 82 ex lancer? i was looking for a bit of a dish for the rear and not so much for the front. iv been tossing up between Front: 16x7 17x7 Rear: 16x8 - 16x8.5 17x7 - 17x8.5 iv sort of got my head around offsets reading through google. but then looking on tard me and sella not sure what offsets i need.

    in the posts iv serached and read they all use the sigma manual gearbox with the l200 bell, when going into a ex lancer. now my question is; will the 63 bolt onto the lancer 5 speed?

Well not a lot has been done to the beast lately. will upload load more pics when i get hold of the camera again. now iv just brought an auto rwd sigma with a 4g63 so hopefully in a couple of weeks will be able to do the conversion. now i know they 4g63 will bolt up on the engine mounts. now what about the the standard 1600 ex gearbox and drive shaft.will those be able to stay in there and bolt up or will i need extras?
  9. whats the go with changing an engine that is injected to run carb? reason being iv found a g63 which is efi out of a 92 chariot its cheap and was going to rebuild it. what would i need.and also will it work? thanks in advance

  11. i had a rebuilt 4g32 all lined up and then got told that its sold. what other motor could i chuck in there that doesnt need to much modifcations.stilling wanting to run a carb.
  12. pretty sweet man!! what sort of paint did you use on the dash?and what have you done with the motor out of it?

  14. im on the look out for another motor iswell but will chuck up a wanted add. i was thinking of pulling the head off, taking it down to wash world and degrease the hell out of it. and doing the same to the sump pan and just clean what i can on the block itself. i was also thinking running a bottle or 2 of engine flush through it, but last time i did that in my wagon the oil pump shit itself a month or so later. dunno wheather it was caused from that or not.
  15. thanks shizzl.so if i pull the oil pan off clean that and then pull the head off and clean all that gunge off.or will i have to do the whole motor and acid dip it?
  16. Whats all this gunge on the head??is it from lack of oil change?was the best low cost way of removing it? Also this is the breather pipe from the rocker cover to the intake can.what has caused this?

    82 Lancer carb

    Iv just brought a rebuilt carb for a guy who had rebuild it and never used it. both identical carbs. now with the one on my lancer it has the bolts that go through the top of the carb to hold it onto the intake manifold.number on the side 1f i think from memory and the one i got doesnt have them just the short bolts that hold it on the manifold. they look identical apart from that.the number on the side 3B should this be ok as the only difference is the way its monuted shouldnt it?not to worry about the numbers
  18. yea its got a volt guage in it but no light.
  19. Iv got 2 wires going into the reg L and R. the R has 12v the L must be a sense wire going to somewhere??theres no warning light on the dash as i pulled it out and checked all the bulbs. and found there was no warning light. also earthed out the L wire to check if the was a light.

  21. i had ran a bulb to the warning light bulb just stayed lite even when reving. checked the voltage on the battery 6.79v then checked the voltage out of the alternator 6.79v. im guessing either i have a dud rectifier or a faulty stator. how do you go about testing these? iv gone through my auto elec books but doesnt say to much about them
  22. yea i was just thinking that.well when i get home im going pull the dash out check the bulb and go from there. if it doesnt work im thinking the stators gone
