  1. Um na was alright it wasn't tight or nething I could still turn the torque converter to line up the bolt holes a mechanic I talked to said if it wasn't in Properly I wouldnt have got the transmission bolted right up?
  2. The torque converter is bolted to the the plate with 4 bolt this must be the Flex Plate? I'm pretty sure that it's in both splines is there an easy way to check? Thanks for the help guys
  3. yea we did i went round and checked it again its got heaps in it would it matter if it was to full? i read some where that if it was to fill i would get froth on the dipstick
  4. oh we put 5 liters in it and ran it and im sure it was a little over full maybe i should have another look so if thats all good then its probably the pump in the second hand one is probably stuffed?
  5. lol yea i put a second hand 1 in and at 680 buks i dnt want it to be stuffed lol i bought a second hand transmission with a torque converter and put it in and scrapped the original trany
  6. recently our 02 mitsubishi galant station wagon just stoped going foward (done 300k)... like it was in neutral or park just reving no movment in any gear we were told it was either the pump or the torque converter and to remove the hoses on the gearbox and if they were squirting it was the torque converter they were squirting in the end got a second hand transmission 80k with torque converter weve put that in the car BUT STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!!!!!!! we made sure the torque converter was rightin properly so i checked the oil hoses on this box and theres no fluid squirting out is this likely to be the problem am i missing something or is the pump fudged? any input much appreciated thanks jesse
  7. bit of sanding done tonight and welded patch into guard
  8. started bottom of the right hand door this weekend heres the new piece in place needs to be trimed to size also done some welding on right hand guard still needs alot of work though its got a bit of rust in it
  9. Man that's alot i know my old place of work big company though they didn't pay rental at boc argon was 30 buks for a d bottle 90 for a g! A g bottle of Argo-universal was 160, I still have 1 of each
  10. yea are the 1.6 heads rare? i read on another forum that the 2l inlet cam will improve performance if put into that head on a 2l, if i was to put the rvr cam into one would the cas be easier to put on it?

  12. i have used older model xa tig and it was good orange in colour. my mate has the tall version of the welder above and i used it to weld up his stockcar manifold worked fine i have never used a smootharc welder before. the xa had a better dutycycle than my kempi.i have an xa mig at home and if i had the money would be at tradezone buying 1 of there tigs lol i have boc gas only cos its from my old place of work.

  17. will i have to measure my pistons i see there is 2 different pin sizes. i thought $200 is pretty cheap. do u still need the cas with the trigger sensor? 3-4% i wouldnt have thought it would be that much thats pretty good though
  18. ports are way different in size and shapes didnt think the evo ports would be smaller. dnt know the difference in cost or power yet would there be a big difference in power with wasted spark batch efi and sequential efi? i was thinking itbs or quad carbs i cant check that site you posted out. 10.4:1 pretty good and got my prices from far nt to bad i thought it would be more. youve done alot of reashearch! what did you decide to go with?
  19. so are all the vavles ect the same? so the 1.6 would best suited to for what i want if i can get 1? so a 1.6 will bolt on but ill have to modify the cas? will i have to change pistons? and thanks for all the info much appreciated
  20. yea that sounds good i have a block thats only done about 30,000 kms! engine looks good in there. i dnt like that spoiler either. might have to look into the heads i thought the compression ratio was to high with a dohc head im lost so i need a 16'' casting? for a head small port gen 2 that how you read it?
  21. yea i remember you saying about the guards they come ready to bolt on? did you just have to redo the lines or what? thats good about the rubbers so they take the chrome an all? back of the cars startn to look real good nw just about ready for final prime gna make a start on rh door this weekend im just gna buy a dohc nw will it bolt up to my gearbox? also do you know if a galant 16l front spoiler would bolt on?
  22. sop rogress has been made on the rear half of the car just about finished the rear half read for final prime (thanks to the old man for helpn out) gna start on the repairs on the right hand door. can anyone give me an aprox cost for fibre glass guards? i have emailed far but have nt got a price from them yet
