  2. Hey man, mines got a 2 1/2" straight through with standard 1300. Sounds nice. Gonna get extractors soon. I can post a vid up or something if you wanted to hear what it sounds like?
  3. Defo keen for this. Will be coming along for the ride. Oh and any people needing WoF etc, try G&T Autos. Malvern Road Onehunga. Ask for Mohammed, hes the guy I bought my esky off. Real lax. Roll on Sunday. Looks like its gonna be perfect weather too. Edit: Fail, Sunday 11 Sep Rain Max 18°C MIN 10°C Rain then showers. Northeasterlies turn northwest.
  4. Awesome stuff man. Just an idea for colour, my dads old one was painted a really really really dark purple. Looked as evil as a mini could possibly look good luck with the build
  5. Terrible update follows. After looking round pics of peoples cars on OS I decided to get off my ass and achieve some progress. So I booked in with a reupholstery place out in Howick and am going to get all the problems with the seats fixed up. Along with that, looking at a new manifold for a bigger carb but final price will determine whether or not that happens. So yeah, wasted a minute of your life but hey. Will post pics of reupholstery when its done. Chur,
  6. Yeah I know just a suggestion. Will come along whenever it is anyway and be a loner for the drive
  7. Haha nice. Yeah good idea, i'll chuck up an ad on here now
  8. Keen to come along and meet some peeps I'll be there.
  9. Minor update/ Questions! So driving along the other day and the rubber from the clutch pedal comes off. Awesome. Made for a unpleasant drive home... Went down to Repco and got some new ones and were a real bitch of a thing to put in but did it eventually. Anyway, few questions to ask you OS'ers Are there any alternatives to the Coby Extractors on TradeMe. Been looking around but cant seem to see any, not saying that they're bad or anything but just seem pricy... Also wondering what some good panel beating places are around Auckland for the old cars?? Any help would be awesome
  10. Thanks for linking this man, knew nothing of it haha. Yup that's me whereabouts are you? Haven't seen any bright blue escorts around... Yeah it does need panelbeating and it's in real awkward places too so no wants to touch it Do you go to those monthly meets much? Could follow you out one time maybe? Hey Tim, haha yeah all in due time
  11. Thats what I was thinking yeah, since I can't find a 1600 anywhere im just gonna do this one up slowly for now and keep my eye out for a 1600 and then do that up. Cheers man, will do. Just gotta find me a 1600 somewhere :S
  12. Thanks for the all the feedback/ideas guys, really appreciated. Have decided to slowly build this one up over time so I can keep it as a daily driver and not have to worry about engine swaps just yet. Thanks heaps
  13. Hola peeps of the interwebs, first actual update of anything resembling work on the 'beast'. So I have been looking round Auckland for panel-beaters that would do the back bumper and front corner but no one really wants to touch it. Have been quoted average $800 so have politely said no and walked away. The week before I got it the guy was reversing up a steep driveway and just as he got to the top a brand new Merc came down. Hence the awkward damage. But it also pushed it sideways into the wall which lead to the front damage. Found some bog from a previous crash there too haha. So if there is anyone on here who knows a panel-beater that would do this kinda stuff please let me know Also found a kinda big spot of rust which I removed. Bit of a black hole really, but lack of welding equipment mean it has to stay as is... So things I've actually done on the car. Well today (with the help of a far more electronically gifted friend) we (meaning mainly him) put my Dukes of Hazard horn back in. It stopped working due to overuse haha so gave it to another mate who had a look at it. He said that there was a possibility it had seized up, and after an hour or so of rewiring and reconnecting it seemed it had done just that. So yeah that was my day. Thought i'd give OS some cheap laughs feel free to reply about anything on here. Suggestions are welcome. Bai for now and hopefully next update will be a more constructive one
  14. Cheers for the info mate. How much did the bulk of these mods cost if you don't mind me asking? Minus extractors and coby
  15. Thanks, I had a look at that before. I was just wanting an opinion on difficulty level for someone relatively new.
  16. Judging by the general feedback im guessing there is just no point in doing up a 1300, which is a bit of a bugger cause it would have been a bit o fun, oh well. Hmm yeah been looking at them. Would be a good project. How easy are they to install? I know so many Escorts have them. Theres one for $750 on trademe http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =392363744 Doesnt have manifolds or anything though. Sorry for being such a n00b haha.
  17. Cheers mate, yeah has had a minor recondition after a blown head gasket. Also did leads, sparks etc. Thanks for the help Im really hoping you mean 150hp haha. Don't be hatin on a 1.3 lol. ...lol
  18. Hey OS, so I have a mk2 esky with a 1300 that could use a bit more power. I'm relatively new to the car scene and was just wondering what are some mods you can do apart from extractors and a bigger carb. How much HP is possible without breaking the bank? Yes I know everyone says just put a 1600 in but due insurance and a few other reasons its not gonna happen + plus it would be awesome beating people off the line in a 1.3L Any help on mods would be greatly appreciated
  19. I'll be heading up Wood Hill for mountain biking, might see you on the way up
  20. Hey all, just thought i'd put some photos up of my car. Its my first car (i'm 16) and is a daily driver. Currently on a 1.3 crossflow which will be getting extractors and a bigger carb soon enough So, pics. Needs some panel-beating, a reupholster, new wheels and of course an engine upgrade Will keep updated. Cheers.
