No broken bones ?
How'd the bike hold up?
-
Cool project dude.
Haven't seen anyone fit pit bike forks to a c50. I've got ct90 forks on my c50. Bolt on conversion.
Throttle assembly should be picked up off trade me. Just type in pit bike throttle assembly. Will the 17" c50 wheel fit in the pit bike ? Or are you runnin the pit bike front wheel ?
They are more or less a bolt on aswell, everything matches up as far as i could tell from testing it out this weekend, The pit bike wheels where 17's as well so the original C50 should fit in there just fine!
The are off one of these http://galleryplus.ebayimg.com/ws/web/181173935501_1_0_1/1000x1000.jpg
even have the little expansion chamber exhaust, its odd as they are a 4 stroke so not sure why they have the expansion chamber.... might try fit it see what i looks like....
Yea, that was my first thought about the throttle assembly but i didn't know what the OG C50 is set up like (only thing i didn't end up looking at in the weekend) has it just got the standard cylinder thing on the end of the wire that will be universal to other set ups?

Hey Richie, what size are the new rims?
-
-
I could be keen on them. How wide and what offset are they?
Both are 15x8, ill measure offset next time i have them off, Chris had the offset increased by about an inch from standard

Anyone used Elite or other company for getting new outer lips made? any advice/price estimate?
-
So haven't really updated in a while sorry guys
Got it a new WOF the other day
Also have sourced another bonnet from RBlover (Ivan on NZDatsun) he kindly gave me to front guards aswell, they arent in that great condition but panel beater might be able to use parts of them
Also picked up these the other day, they are 14x6 +11 Long Champ 3 piece welded rims (unfortunately they aren't genuine but oh well)
plan is to get Pine Engineering or Elite to make some new outer lips to make them into 14x7.5 (front) and 14x8.5 (rear) and hopefully they end up looking like this :)

Hi Guys,
Pretty new to the bike/moped game but i am already hooked!
Started off with this little 87 FA50 i brought at the start of the year
It did me well and i rode it to work most sunny days, but just didn't quite have the top end i was afterSo sold the Fa to the mrs and brought this of a fellow oldschooler "Rob"as per tittle its a 1970 C50It has been retrofitted with an unknown 90cc engine (4 speed manual), has a top end of around 75km at the moment.has been converted to 12v aswellPaints in pretty poor condition and few things missing but it seems like a pretty honest bike.Pic dump- 5

Yea think thats what its called, mate just told me about it
-
Any of the QCR going on the ride on the 30th?
-
Fixed, ended up being a fucked starter, chucked a new one in and shes all go!
Cheers for the advice guys!

Does the engine turn over by hand easily?
Yea it does, it crash starts and runs/drives
I once had a similar issue and it turned out that the starter switch on the ignition assembly was fucked. Couldn't afford to replace it so set up a momentary switch haha.
Haha i hooked up a temp switch in the engine bay bypassing all the wiring and it still wouldnt turn it over well
is it possible that the starter operates normal under a bench test but the gear wont spin once its loaded up (connected to the flywheel)
-
Have replaced all the power and earth wires, that didnt remedy that problem unfortunately
Bench tested the starter, it seemed to pop out and spin as it should
just sounds like the starter hasnt got enough grunt to move the flywheel around
-
I had this issue, replaced all the earth/power cables and turns over like a champ now.
Choice, will try this first! Cheers
Check earths/other connections. Could be a bung starter
Cheers!

Hey Guys,
Picked up a Ke36 last week that i plan on using as my daily.
Having an issue with it turning over, has a good strong battery in it (out of the gloria) but when turning the car over it sounds like the car has a dead battery ???
wiring issue or starter or something, ive never come accross it before...
any ideas??
(before you ask no the battery isnt dead, i can chuck it into the gloria and it starts it up straight away)
Cheers
Nathan

Been a while since i have posted here, So ill give a breif update of the last few months
- Got this running
- Daily driver got stolen
- Needed car to get to work so took Gloria for WoF, failed on stupid stuff (exhaust been classed as lowest point, a couple of minor dents)
- Took it for recheck at different place, only failed on a few minor bulbs etc,
- Got a WOF
- Proceeded to be stoked that it had a WoF
- Alot of fucking around with the fuel system as it was causing problems
and that about brings us to last weekend were i fixed the fuels issues! still needs a tune but its running alot better!
So i have registered for Old School Nats in March, need to make sure the old girl is up for the trip! would be nice to have her sitting on some new rims before then but that will depend on how much i can save of the xmas break
