  1. Cheers for the info and links Edrion. Will have a good look through when I'm close to a computer.
  2. Bahahaha I was waiting for some Hong like this to pop up. Need to revert to kiwi spec Rotang! !
  3. **also if you are about to suggest selling it and buying something local please don't. This car owes me a huge amount of money and it has caused me A LOT of stress with the whole court shit I had to go through during its build. There aren't many 1300s in NZ especially built in this style so i will probably end up keeping it for the years to come.
  4. Hey guys, Considering moving back to NZ later this year or start of next year as I may have a sweet job opportunity available. If I do I'd be wanting to bring my Mazda over with me. What I'm wanting to know is costs involved to land it and also the compliance process, tax to pay etc. The vehicle is located in Perth and I'm looking to ship to Auckland if I do. I think this may have been covered before but the search is really crap to use on my mobile. Another thing is that the vehicle is extensively modified. This includes a engine transplant which would be about 400% power increase from factory, Transmission swap and modified, custom diff, brakes, fuel setup, body mods including gussets, strengthened plates, custom firewall/Trans tunnel etc. The vehicle is not currently a runner however will be when ready to ship. It also has had all the major structural rust cut out but has small amounts here and there (e.g bottom of doors, door mirror mounts etc and some surface rust). I have owned this car for 2 years and it is currently registered to w.a. After having a quick look through various Google searches shipping itself may be around 2000-3000 then maybe 2000 compliance plus cert and maybe tax? Because of the type of vehicle, longevity of ownership and condition that I'd be moving back to NZ it looks like I may be exempt to certain taxes but not too sure. Has anyone done this before and if so could you shed some light? Cheers in advance, Tai
  5. Quick update. Engine bay still hasnt been painted. The bloke who's supposed to be doing it has been letting us down so we're getting someone else to sort it out. Hopefully it will be done this week. Also have come into some funds with tax return and what not so have some more money to throw at it now. As soon as the bay is painted assembly will be under way then will start finishing things off. Also received a parcel from the courier this morning... Repro bonnet badge and some mint side indicators, will be much better than the current ones that are crumbling to pieces. Chur Tai
  6. And lastly picture of the man himself, Jim Richards and the Porsche he's been running in the series for the last few years. Cheers, Tai
  7. Hey Everyone, Here are some pic's from the Riverside Drive leg (final stage) of the Targa West event over here in Perth, W.A. Most pictures are from the conjoined show and shine and Targa vehicles parked up as I didnt get a chance to snap anything actually racing as I was hard pressed for time.
  8. Threw some wrinkle paint on the housings yesterday, came up a treat I reckon. Masking tape has pulled a small amount of paint off so will touch it up later but pretty damn stoked with how it's looking. Chur, Tai
  9. Yeah fair enough. It would be about $50 I would think. Would sell them cheap for $50 though
  10. Not sure man, havent really had a look at the setup on the utes but I reckon it will probably be a simple conversion. Would be going from 5 stud to 4 stud though and 4x110 which has fuck all wheel selection if you're looking at changing down the track? I should have complete front disc brake setup (hubs, discs, calipers and disc shield/backing plate) I think the bearings arent there though and would require pads (discs may need a skim and calipers may require rebuild). I remember them being piss poor but I only drove around on the setup for a day and may have only needed a bleed. Would pay to jump on Stalk book pages.. Mazda collectors and Restorers, Mazda 1200 / 1300 group?, Perth Rotary are pretty good as well. I'm sure the guys on there will shed some advice. Also after having a quick look I also have an original air cleaner, and radiator both in decent used condition if you're in need.
  11. Yeah fair enough didnt realism you were in aus. Might be worth getting some o.g Mazda material if you're looking at retrimming the interior though
  12. No worries bro they're not going anywhere and i'll do them for a sweet price. Hah cheers bro, slowly getting there with the 1300. Not keen on getting anything else from there - I was ill informed on these bits and that put me off + all there second hand parts are so damn expensive for the condition they're in.
  13. Sweet base though! There's like next to none in nz so good to see some more rolling about.
  14. I have some Phils Rotary repro Mazda 1000 front guards and floor pans. Was told they would also suit sedan initially but they don't. The ute guards have a different shape at the front due to the corner lamps and floor is different. If you're interested in buying I can't send through some more details.
  15. Spent half the day following up from yesterday with the help of my mrs and Alan from MotorElite. Continued stripping back the transmission and cleaning up/scuffing back the engine and intake manifold. And an action shot of the man himself. And here's where we're at.. Crap lighting and phone pic but we've left the lettering on the side of the housings with a brushed finish and yet to throw some wrinkle paint on the housings but damn it's looking good! Cheers, Tai
  16. Brought the seats down to check sizing/clearance and it looks like it will work! I really forget how small the 1300 is because these seats really arent that big but they only barely fit! They're pretty snug with the widened trans tunnel and don't look too out of place. Will have a play around with the mountings and get them sitting nicely soon. When they get retrimmed I might get old mate to bring the side cushions in slightly as well for better fitment. Also began stripping the engine and transmission back to detail and tidy up. The engine was painted in basic silver/black combo when it was built about a year and a half ago but it has just been sitting since so has gathered some dust and i'm wanting to go down a different path in terms of colour. The transmission had a good thick layer of grime on it so spent about 3 hours attacking it with degreaser, waterblaster, scotchbrite pads and wire wheel diegrinder but shit is caked on pretty hard so gonna spend half the day tomorrow attacking it and hopefully throw some paint on. Here's a shameless instagram filtered pic for good measure.. Cheers Tai
