so i had gotten the head off, now it was time to get it all fixed up... started by taking out the valves and springs some heavy ass welding in the head (had to do a few patches this size) mmm freshly plained now came time to seat the valves

now i could take a better look at the block and stuff ...which wasnt the best lol as you can see there was a very milky looking substance haha. the water jacket that had blown was right into the cylinder

that was just the start of it ^ first thing was to take off the manifolds and head

so when i left the guys house (where i bought it from), got about half way home and it wouldnt start again and oil was pissing out the top of the rocker cover. so i rang up a mate and he towed me, when i was ALMOST home, the brakes failed for some reason, and going downhill, hand to get right up against the curb to avoid total disaster. i had a look at some stuff and i quickly noticed that the following things were wrong: Blown head gasket No indicators worked reverse lights didnt go both rear wheel cylinders gone front pads worn to the metal bonnet cable loose air fuel mixture too rich leaky crank seal excessive blow by smokey exhaust rear bumper rusty battery rust holes from acid pull off springs seized water leak idling at about 3000rpm clutch cylinder was gone ball joints gone engine mount completely fuckd... quite a bit more but i can think of them at the mo (ill update this post later )

***Discussions*** okay so i decided about 8 months ago that i was gonna buy this car on trademe (even though it had a blown head gasket and heaps of shit didnt work or was stuffed)

haha all the bike shops near where i live are shit as. they sell like 3 seats about about 6 bikes. thats about it lol

i was thinking about using gyro cable from a bmx? and just solder part of my original one on to the end so its long enough to reach to the back of the choke?

went to the bike shop, they said they only buy the cables, and dont make them up??

I have the twin cd150 setup. Was thinking of replacing points condensor rotor and seeing if that solves any problems?

sweet as. thanks for your help might do that today ..when i last had it runnin (aside the exhaust leak) it was running really really rough, almost as if it would die everytime id let off the throttle.. tried adjusting the mixture etc.. but no luck.. any ideas? (That was with one carb on) any ideas?

sweeet.. and I dunno where to get twin air filters to fit strombergs? i was gonna just buy 2 pieces of flat plastic (hardened), and buy 2 pod filter adaptors for any random car, on the adaptors, dril a hole in each corner, same with the flat piece so the holes align, and on the flat piece drill out all the holes on the inlet, secure the flat piece to each carb, and get 4 nuts and bolts to secure the adaptor to the flat plastic with the 4 holes, then put on a dop filter on each, or get a t piece and some 3" piping and make both filters run from the same filter. would that do the trick??

i have been told i can get some made up from a guy local to me, how much shorter would i want them to lower it? an exta 50mm off?

repco and supercheap cant, i rang bnt about 4 months ago they said they MAY be able to help but there wouldnt be much stock left??

i dont know where i could possibly get a twin choke cable?? any ideas?

Do i need to be using 2 choke cables fot cd 150 twins? the chokes arent linked are they?

ive reassembled my carbs many times.. on my twin carb manifold, there is no hole for the spring screw to go in? the throttle return spring, where do i put the spring? or do i even need one?

the two springs that are just behind the diff to engage the cables to the drums?

Its a project. No project ive ever known has been cheap. Especially doing extra things to it like lowering, conversions, etc.

And would anybody happen to know if my car would have a "ducellier ign"? Whatever the fuck that is? o.O

Handbrake pull-off springs? Dunno the proper name for them but thats what it says in the manual.. I thought they were just handbrake springs but clearly not lol..
