Just a quick look at whats happening with my first viva I'm thinking red oxide bottom and the roof cream or black. I'll be painting the visor cream to suit the roof

a small update: lowered it a bit more re primed it painted it metallic grey yesterday hasn't had clear coat or polish yet might buy carpets for it probably up for sale also.. maybe some interest? anyways heres a photo of current state

yeah done that, doesnt seem to be any leaks with this new intake mani

yeah iv been playing around a bit with mixture it doesnt seem to be changing much in other news went to finaly drive it and just as i put clutch in the whole cable just moves instead of just the inner bit need to get some sort of grommet thing to hold the outer cable as it just moves through what used to hold out... this is getting annoying

got a bit ahead of myself there, the oil in the top bought the idle down but it didnt help with the choke issue

i swapped intake manifolds and the car now starts but the problem now is that it only runs when choke is on full and at a very high rpm. As soon as you move the choke a tiny bit the engine dies even when i was revving it hardout

it was in a running state but it stopped running so im going to reset it all

gonna go get some of that stuff, when I get back i'll reset everything back just to make sure again and then hopefully it will fire

i changed the diaphragm with one that wasn't split and I've played around with the carb alot but nothing seems to be working the fuel gets sucked through the carb with vacuum right? possibly vacuum leak as when it did start I could here a big sucking noise

earth, timing, gap is all set it fires but it doesn't idle at all unless full acceleration. with foot to the floor it just idles at about 1500 rpm

battery charged overnight put carby on this morning still no luck. fuel is getting down there as it almost fires everytime but it just wont start

frankenstein carby has been made but the battery is cranking over slower than a turtle running through peanut butter so It'l have to wait for tomorrow

somethings fucked up in the carb im sure. Iv got 4 shitty spare ones that dont work also, im going to make one with all the best parts and see what happens

ok now it doesnt backfire, its so close to firing. its trying to but not holding it, gas mixture to lean?

dizzy was left as is, throttle butterfly works

ok a bit of pregress, it now backfires out the carb most times

yes everything been hooked up algood and also plugs aren't getting wet with fuel. Its going into carb then just not making it to engine

i only changed sump gasket everything else was the same as when i took it out and it was running then. the only other thing i changed was the inlet manifold because the other one had a leak

mmm i did pour petrol down the carb, it resulted in a fire, unfortunately the fire was on the carb/air filter as i was a bit liberal with the petrol lol

I put my vauxhall vivas engine back in today everything went fine, finally got to the stage to fire it and it just wont start. It does even almost start just keeps turning over there is a good spark at all the plugs and theres gas going into the carb but im pretty sure its not making it to the engine I took the carb apart and cleaned it all up but the gas still wont go into engine so i don't know whats wrong ideas? thanks
