  1. All the paint I've got for my Falcon has had Dulon on the can; And I can't imagine they'd delete the formulations.

I've taken colour samples in from both my 74 and 84 Falcon and I'm sure they've cross referenced back to the original colours - they even wrote Ice Blue Metallic on the label for one and I never told them that's what it was.

Have you tried a couple of paint shops?

  2. I do my best, and I wish I could do more but I got enough issues wrangling my own kids let alone someone else's. I spent three weekends trying to teach her Manual, she got the gist of it but she works most weekends (commendable for a kid of 15) and finding time to keep teaching is a stretch. She has the concept down.

I'm off to pick up the first of my kids' manual MX-5s in the next week or two if that's any consolation.

Tiida endorsement is good, thanks, wasn't on my radar... Still can't believe how fugly all these 2000ish commuter cars are though.

  3. I know this is OS, and it should be something OS, but it's for my niece. She's getting her licence and needs something dependable and daily, and cheap to run. And automatic. Looking at around 3-4k.

My thinking is early 2000s Corolla or Familia because easy proven options. Is there something else in that entry level bracket you'd recommend? Thinks to watch out for?

Is that a Morrie Resin body?

I have a box of kitsets I've hoarded over the years for when I get old. Prized possessions are 2 aoshima Mad Max Falcons.

Also, I like that this thread stands apart from Diecasts. Diecasts are gay. Kitsets involve real building and modding.

  5. Around the same time my XB came up on trademe about 10 or 13 or so years ago a valiant coupe near identical to that came up, and I couldn't convince the mrs of the time it was a great investment. it was $6k. one of the many reasons I resent that woman.

and tbh whats it going on? Radiator shrouding will be many times more efficient than trimming a bit of plate in front of it

probably the most pertinent point so far. if a number plate is causing you problems, there's bigger issues. if you're doing it as a performance gain, well...
