  1. Yeah, just got to hope that buy the time iv finished it its still "in". Its only cost me $1500 so far, including car, 13b, gearbox, wheels and tyres so it wont be one of those projects that i wont want to sell cos it owes me too much.
  2. Yeah, your fully right though. Its a shame that the door handles and vents are not photo shopped. Last owner filled them with bog and i dont have the bumpers. I put the mirrors and white walls on for lol's. To be honest i will probably just build it to the rotor fag style and sell it to one of them for too much then buy something else.
  3. Ok, now i got some cash im after 13b inlet and exhaust manifolds and also a carb. Think i also need a dizzy cap. Interested in anything else you may have and think i need bearing in mind my conversion (mounts etc) that may save me building stuff. Still coming up with things in photoshop Edit: Build thread - viewtopic.php?f=17&t=17219

    tramp bars

Lots, and lots. Especially in lower powered cars that have been given big motors where the suspension was never designed for 3 times the power. Sir Newton figured this out a loong time ago. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. If you take this pic for example The wheel is turned anti clock wise if you are looking at the back. There for the diff is forced clockwise and thats why the tramp bars there are fine. If the bars were on the top they would still have to point forward. The only way they can point backwards is if a, you do skids in reverse, or b, they are held some how to the body.

    better cooling?

Only when there's air in the cooling system. if spinning hard enough can it not pull a vacuum cavity behind the fins? From what i understand a cavity is only created if there is a piece of air in there. No matter how much vacuum you put there it wont do anything unless there is the smallest bit of air. When there is air in there, the vacuum behind the fin multiples the air volume. When it flys off the end of the fin it suddenly goes back to a positive pressure which = vibration and sand blasting effect. Father and i have been scratching out heads with the jet boat jet unit which is just one huge water pump. Taking out the thermostat is only a quick fix to the cooling problem. The thermostat creates an opposing force on the water pump which creates a mechanical positive pressure on the system. I think that is what also slows the cavitation. In a fully functioning system the water pump should work fine on the rev limit. The manufactures dont spend millions developing the systems to have them fail.

    better cooling?

If i was in your position i would do as someone said above, remove thermostat. Warm it up, do a skid and see if it gets to running temp. My MR2 does and i can vary it with the two electric fans. Could also jimmy up a water sprayer. Intercooler water spray makes massive difference, id say it would on a radiator as well. After a shower stand in front of a fan and you will see how fast you freeze your ass off. Just dont get caught in an awkward situation lol. Also need to be 100% sure the system is functioning as it should. ie nothings blocked. I like to take the thermostat out, put about 1/4 cup of dish washing liquid in, go for drive, leave it over night, go for another drive and then dump it, flush like hell and put it all back together. Amazing what comes out with the detergent added after it has already run clear. Solved my overheating problems. -Simon
  7. Guess this can be an introduction as well. Iv been hanging round reading the forum for a while now, good for lol's Drove Spence's Crown in the w/e which re motivated me for this project after finishing my AW11 not too long ago. Wont post pics of that, dont think they are OS in the slightest. Spence gave me a mean drunken lecture on how to drive OS after nearly getting d1's round the first corner with a wagon full of people. lol oops. Would rather have all the bumpers and trim that last owner shaved. Dont know if i like the modgies, might sell them to a y0 boy, or keep them for when i sell the car. Maybe those wheels are the only ones that would work with the shaved look, i hope not though. Trying to get it away from honda driving, rotor hoody wearing winners style. Getting 4k and sold asap. -Simon
