  2. anybody know the measurment differences between the 2 ive got a 4g63 was told it was N/A but it has a turbo sump and turbo pistons so just want to check it is a narrow block that sombody converted not a wideblock that has been mistaken as narrow
  3. never realy stripped a car carb they just look too messy would be heaps easier if it was fitted with bike carbs hmm.........nah
  4. in the words of manuel 'que?" which bits the power valve?
  5. nah jamming it up and a power bar is still abit rough just get a quality 6 sided impact socket and set rattle gun to full noise if you round it off with a good socket it was never going to come out
  6. ok so it idles fine and sits happily at max revs (what ever that is) and cylinder 1 is firing at 5dbtdc on idle but i get a real evil misfire and occasionally a flame fire back out the carb at about 4500 (just a guess) any ideas? all new plugs, leads rotor and cap, 155-175psi compression on each cylinder, im completly stuck on what next to try
  7. nah other side, chch the discs are pretty mint too
  8. fark that come take the hole disc and studs and shit, saves me trippin to the scrappys
  9. nah i set it to tdc by watching the tappets and with a screwdriver in the plug hole so i know it was accurate as
  10. i was right then that means i got something wrong earlier i tryed setting 1 to tdc and pointing the rotor at the No1 point in the cap and all it did was shoot smoke out the exhaust and carb may have to tweak around tomorrow
  11. thats what i thought whats no 1 on a scoober? id guess front right?
  12. anybody have any info on fitting the distributor to an ea71??? 1600 push rod motor either a workshop manual they can scan or personal geniousness will be massively appreciated
  13. yeah if you haven't brought any parts yet, slide a set of gas gt's or similar in them and a set of adjustable coil sleeves that way it saves waking the grinder up at a later date should have mine all done by the weekend and finally get to sit it down
  14. re-assembled the rear end today and dropped it down, wasn't as low as i hoped but the front was still on stands i also forgot to take photos of said not-lowness i think it may be because ive added more leafs to the reset bunch so the car doesn't sag down as much oh well maybe time for blocks also leafs will be repainted after i set fire to them and NO im not going to paint anything in black or silver..........
  15. yeah i told him to get his wad out and buy a light weight one cant see him needing a heavy clutch the car doesn't weight anything so a stock altezza one should have all the grip he needs hes also being a pussyole and refuses to turbo it
  16. if the plate in front of the disc is the same as a 79 lancer i have 2 you can have FOC before i scrap them
  17. its not in limp home mode is it? i know ford focuses limit to about 3k when they get upset
  18. the finish is so much better, id never do it on something mike my lancer, but cars that are 4 or 5 years old and have had a hard life can come out looking like new also just a cut and wax doesn't get the deep scratches out ive done a fair bit of refurb work for avis and budget on lease returns and it always gives me a sad on when i see cars the are 9 months old with one super shiny panel that ive de-scratched and the rest all dulled up from rough washes i just love super shiny paint it takes about 8 hours to do an average car properly but the effort is always worth it
  19. i would have gone adjustable but i already had lancer springs and shocks when i began the hack up so made sense cash wise its actually not as much work is it seems just 2 cuts and a weld
  20. thanks for the info i will pass it on if you want to get a feel of how he drives just youtube 'ae86 @ santapod' its not used for sunday cruising
  21. deleted utter jibberish that spewd from my lieing mouth
