  1. Supply vs demand is what I was told by a reliable source for the pricing. So yeah if demand drops then prices in Japan auctions will drop. But if it doesn't drop, then I guess it might not. So probably somewhere in the middle? Will be interesting to see how it pans out, hoping to get something lined up before rebate stops, but demand is nuts so half the cars I look at online are gone the next week.

  2. Yard down the road seems to be picking up whatever is left in Japan and selling them with rebate mentioned. Last time I looked some are as late as mid december arrival and when I popped in they said they were a month or so behind now. So I guess they are just relying on people putting down deposits on cars that won't be getting rebates because they don't know the deal. Compliance is taking a month as well (not sure if that's normal or not) but they (a different yard) said if a deposit is down they will get it processed quicker.

So that buy up large before the rebate stops idea ship has sailed already @cubastreet

  3. Granted he is talking aussie market, but the small difference between dolphin and MG4 pricing make's it DOA. It's just worse in every way for a tiny saving. People will still buy it though i'm sure, because research is hard. He sure liked his loaner Kona electric.

Can be a grumpy old barry, but has some interesting content. That's how I found out the ANCAP system is a broken waste of space.

I immediately pointed out that the nut holding the lower control arm to the car was loose (and had been loose since before Andrew got the car). How the inspector could possibly have missed it is beyond my comprehension.

I might be missing something, but if this was a known to be loose from before current ownership, why wasn't it fixed when first noticed? Rolling around with loose suspension doesn't sound like a good idea. Yeah should be picked up, but seems like it was known about so should have been sorted before check really. Devils advocate etc. If it was purely just from driving it and noticing a knock / wobble, always worth a look with an unknown car history.

Didn't realise the Cyberster was 4.5m and 2 tonnes! That's longer and heavier than the MG4!

Have you compared those specs to other performance EVs? Because that is very typical. As for the MG4 comparison, may as well compare it to a dog turd lol. Because the MG4 is closer to being one of those than a performance EV.

Who does brake rotor skimming around here? The front rotors are pretty bad but still have 95% wear available so should get away with a skim and new pads. Alternatively he can just spend a few buck and use my trade account to get new rotors

Undercar Service Centre did all the brake work on my diff before they moved to Hayton Road, skimming some rotors would easy for them i'd say. They skimmed my drums and rebuilt the lot including supply of new master. Good service IMO.

  7. Unless your policy states you can't, I don't think they can force you to use one of their repairers. So if there is a closer place to you, I'd see how far booked they are then ask insurance about using your own choice of repairer. They sometimes offer lifetime warranty on repairs done at approved place. Might be other ways they try convince you. But yeah check first as finding a more local place would be a lot easier for you.

  8. I haven't looked too much into the EV models, just quite like the styling of the cars in general. All the ones i've seen are likely ICE, they stand out from the crowd of boring appliances.

My current pick would be the IONIQ 5 N. IONIQ 5 was already my favourite style, the extra sprinkles on the top of the N sound good. All pretty irrelephant when I can't even buy a decent Leaf lol.

  9. I'd be pissed if the claimed range was THAT far out. Would be interesting to see what others get online with the same car. Sample size is going to be pretty small on here for people with BYD cars.

That short on the tank though I'd be wanting to see how I could throw it back at them and find something else.

Have seen a few CUPRA around recently that I didn't even know existed till I saw one. Won't be BYD pricing range though I don't imagine. Decent looking cars though IMO.
