  1. Dropped these off at TTT automotive today, he will be grinding off the s13 mounts and making a sleeve to locate them on the casings as the s13 sleeves are 52mm id and the casings are 50mm od. pieced the interior back together and gave it a quick clean, the great thing from stripping another car as ive replaced almost every broken or missing piece (still to do dash top) Still needs a damn good vacuum and shampoo throughout gave the outside a quick wash an that was all today's daylight allowed
  2. read everywhere they were too long so went with s13 fronts, will buy the mx73 rears after ive had the front ones welded and crack tested
  3. yea you recommended him to a friend of mine tom but Im struggling to make it there with him closing at 3 each day edit: google says he closes as 6/ facebook page says he closes at 3 (ive been past twice at 4.30 to closed doors)
  4. Looking for someone to tig s13 coilovers onto my gx61 stub axles, i have already trimmed the casing down and am aware of the legal requirements
  5. Finished the wiring over the last week, everything functions like it should. Started looking at my coilovers and noticed one of the inserts had a slight bend so purchased a pair of st185 kyb inserts. Struggled to slide either of them in due to poor sectioning of the casing so decided to flag it and return them in favour of a front pair of s13 bc coilovers. Will hopefully see my extended LCAs and shortened knuckles in the next week and get the BCs welded onto my casings. Still need to pump the guards before hitting the track and look into getting a trd lsd or locker for now. Will post a start up vid in the coming days
  6. swapped this for this and dropped off spare set of these to be modded
  7. engine and gearbox out genuine waterpump and cambelt installed and new oil and filter and few oil leaks tidied up pulled up top and bonnet off engine and gearbox mounted, getting good at this didnt even need to remove driveshaft put the boot badges back on already started the wiring and have hooked up powersteering, vacuum hoses and throttle cable, hoping to have it running this time next week!
  8. started on the removal of the 2jzge from my other x6 chassis sedan all the wiring is disconnected from the body and radiator, twin electric fans and support removed, also grabed the trd 8 way shocks out to put in 61 and the whole 2.25 exhaust system which should pretty much bolt in should get the engine and box out this week and freshen up the engine with a new cambelt and waterpump now that i know its a runner
  9. Gave the engine bay a degrease and waterblast, will start looking at wiring for the 2jzge
  10. Removed red pinstripe and hornet and fitted wheels this morning. Front needs to come down in height which should happen with the engine, gearbox and coilovers being fitted, rear is at perfect height, Previous owner has done some guard work to fit the 15x8 0p wheels so not a lot is needed
  11. New shell, new thread. purchased this gx61 with a 1ggte with a blown head gasket, parted out all the things i didnt need or already have. got rid of the sportmaxxs and sat it on something a bit more worthy whilst i went on holiday purchased some new old stock wheels while in japan (big ups to my mate josh for helping me carry them on the train) had pine engineering take them from 6" A type to 8" up front and 9" in the rear which brings me to today, car is currently a rolling body, i will tidy up the engine bay and set up the wiring and radiator for the 2jzge +w55 setup from my rx60 cressida and then swap everything over including the coilovers and give the interior a damn good clean.
  12. i would say jzge at risk of being shunned by the straight pipe crew, my conversion has cost around 3k with 2k of that being w55, bellhousing, clutch, flywheel and x6 manual conversion so if you can source those parts cheap you will be laughing
  13. Good to see someone who will do it justice has bought it, i was very tempted but wrong island
  14. awesome day at hampton for the drifjunkies vs driftkana x, here are my favourite pics pinched from a few of the photography pages. so much fun on full track, car behaved well staying at low temperatures went for a solid 3 or 4 30minute sessions, diff has developed a clacking noise between acceleration and decceleration, have found this is due to the driveshaft having to turn half a turn before engaging wheels so on the lookout for another diff head i think!
  15. Hopefully stiffening up the front and rear and going from 195/70/14 to 175/65/14 will be a bit easier on the diff and axles
  16. yea i did see they were quite long on auction but needed something asap, might see if autolign can shorten them next week
  17. Pair of NEW Rear TRD Blue 8 way Adjustable Shocks for AE86 Part Number 48531-AE881 also purchased some rear trd springs which ill recieve tomorrow, hopefully it all bolts in easily and ready for some sideways action!
  18. after bead blasting after levi painted them and finally on the car with 175/65/14s attending the hampton full track drift day this sunday so i have 4 days to sort out something better for the rear suspension
  19. Swapped the coilovers from the gx61 into the rx60, this was a pain in the ass! I had to swap the top hats as one of the bolts is off by about 5mm, i also had to swap the calipers as the mounts are slightly different then once that had been sorted i went to bolt the stock rims back on, also failed as they foul on the spring on the inside. Grabbed some slipon spacers off a friend to remedy this in the short time while my watanabes were stripped and painted
  20. decided to get this moving again, swapped both axles and diff head for manual ratio while i was at it tried on one of the watanabes the width and offset is perfect for non irs so i will be stripping them and painting them shortly, was pretty sure i wanted to paint a gunmetal colour but now seeing them in black on the car i think that might suit it more
  21. add lube man, when i first assembled and pumped up they did same thing, after soap was added pumped up again and bounced the whole wheel keeping fingers far out of way
  22. they are about 180 delivered from techno toy tuning
