Too friggen right. I was saying to old boy I’m gonna rattle can it satin black. He told me to take the remains of the gloss black he got as part of his sponsorship for his dirt cars. After almost 49 years of speedway he has finally walked away, and he won’t be needing it.

About to turn around and strip the tins a 3rd time. It’s going to get a satin black paint job from left over tins from work.

I’m a blue oval guy. AU2 XR6 BF XR6 BF2 XR6 ea2 Fairmont had numerous xd xe Falcon cars and wagons.
I rate AU2 as the best of the lot and if I could find one and finances allowed I’d be buying a AU3 VCT Cobra. B series suspension is a consumable- 2

Did you do anything regarding upgrade to the valve springs? I had one with a cam and a little head work in it in my first stockcar and they were the built in rev limiter at around 7500rpm. You probably know this but pay attention to the oil pump drive.
They’re a great little motor apart from those two things

Pictureless update due to being angry at myself.
Had tank and front guard in top coat and had sanded the couple of small runs out.
Gave it a wipe down with a rag and some prepsol. Let it dry and started putting on the (what I thought would be) topcoat before the clear. Finished up and left them in the sun.
Went back half an hour later and the frigging lot has reacted.
Turns out this Rustoleum paint doesn’t like prepsol.FUCK
IT
ALL.
so front guard has been ripped back to bare steel again. Tank tomorrow.

As an ex tyre tech @SOHC has a point. Every set I came across that required removing were pretty easy to remove with a 12 point socket. They worked better than the reverse thread screw over top thingee socket provided by the company
