  1. More just pictures then a real update, but mocked up engine mounts last night. Just got to box them and then attach to chassis. New vs Old Top mounted brake caliper (hows that for different) Engine mount (not the part we worked on last night though)
  2. Havent done too much this week, and photos of near completed front end are still coming. I did how ever draw up a template for the new steering arm that is getting waterjetted this week. Here is what it will look like. Nice piece of stainless steel should clean up nice too.
  3. When ya get back from painting, let me know what the Paint code is. Could be an interesting colour to have my brake calipers and other bits and pieces done in.
  4. The gold on the red and gold one is sweet. Is there a finished photo of that car, or is it still being built?
  5. Well I promise to keep it up to date as much as possible. Also having to get something cut out with a Waterjet. Anyone know of a place in the waikato/bop area?
  6. His name is Steve Daniels. Been doing the hot rodding thing since mid 70s, was an original member of a hot rod club called Tall Timbers. But that is no longer around but most old rodders know about it.
  7. Yeah stink you cant suicide those doors. Maybe you could lambo them instead. *runs for life* You expecting to have much floor left after the sand blasting?
  8. Sure there are. If your front end is set up correctly, there's not reason it shouldn't handle like a Cadillac (or there abouts!) even with an I-beam. But it's just advice, I'm not trying to start an argument. Is this your first rod? I'm building a '28 Roadster Pickup but I'm throwing round the idea of building a bucket on the cheap to try out some ideas for the A. It is my first hot rod yes, but have a very experianced builder helping out (old man). He must have built/modified like a trillion billion gazillion (makes new numbers) in his years.
  9. Lol bomber seats are on the cards yes, but when president of my hot rod club is an upholster I dont think I have to be up with uncomfortable seats
  10. Damn straight. But should atleast have some nice comfy seats, they wont do much but meh.
  11. Picked up engine mounts yesterday, so can finally go about putting the engine in properly. Also front calipers are on and stuff, so will take some photos of that over the weekend and get them on here.
  12. You are aware there isnt many t buckets that drive "comfortably" right?
  13. This thing is very choice. How much of a cunt is it to change rear wheels on them? Doesnt look like it raises enough to do so.
  14. Yeah I just hope I dont get run off the site when it starts to take form of a actual hot rod I am looking at flat colour, but I doubt it will be brown.
  15. Im still drawn towards this for a grill option, but have to cut out some of the middle as will be way too tall.
  16. Na no grill decision yet. Went to swap meet in Tauranga on sunday and they had nothing, so will head over to Rotorua next month and see if anything catches my eye there. Just going to go with the whole "that would suit the car so well" decision I think.
  17. Yeah got an idea of what we are doing, going to have a pair of custom open headers that will able to be capped and then run under the car to where it will join up to mufflers. So the power I am hoping to get, will be for the uncapped headers. Edit: Along the lines of the rod in my sig
  18. Hmm not going to happen some how. Can handle building a nice old ford, but cant bring myself to power it by an old Ford v8. As for power not too sure on that at the moment. Reading up on the 308, they have a huge range of hp. One article says 200hp and another says 240hp. And that is old technology so Im not sure if its realistic or not but 350 in this little car should be just nice.
  19. Lol was going to do similar thing. Get OSH all up in here and shit.
  20. Well I wont say no bling, but there will be very little. Going to most likely run the polished wires that are on the front and if I do that, then I be looking for some nice 15x10s for the back. They will have a painted centre with a polished lip. But yeah that will be pretty much it for the bling factor. Going to go with a flat paint job, with maybe a gloss chassis. But that is like a million years away and will most likely change mind before then.
  21. Discuss here http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=14669
  22. Build Thread //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/22643-1923-ford-t-bucket-rat-rod-styles-want-oldskool/?p=578704 Right want some comments and shit. So go.
  23. If you going to go for an updated version of old school nzpost paint scheme, then an old school nzpost logo on side must be on the cards too
  24. Ok so lost the last thread for it, not that it had anything in it anyways. So new thread.
