  1. according to wikipedia this engine is about the 1979 vintage. and from this website http://www.ereplacementparts.com/honda-g80-type-v1vin-g8010000091054008-small-engine-parts-c-37657_37658_37986_37782.html it looks like it has needle roller big end and ball raced main bearings. so looks pretty solidly constructed. so hopefully it will hold up to a wee bit of abuse.
  2. if you get an authority card cant you just run it in line like every one else? im pretty sure you dont need separate callipers and so on.
  3. cat love ham? got mikuni bike carb is about the 32mm variant. has adjustable needle which i think they all have anyways. gonna set at max rich and stick wide band up its bum. then see what happens will be all shhhhhhhhhhhhhh or BOOM one or the other.
  4. He will sort it when he can. K series?
  5. Working on it. Waiting for Mr VG to come back to me with what he can sus out drive line wise.
  6. can spin it in either direction and it pumps air so that didnt help not knowing which way it went. cant see it spinning any other way bu counter clockwise so just going to roll with that.
  7. shit yes. legend. that will be awesomely handy.
  8. you can win this time. but hamilton - home of the big blocks wil come hand it to one day shortly.
  9. I cannot do this weekend. Ripped whole bike to bits to fit super charger haha. Maybe some time mid december.
  10. i rolled with your 2c Mr Bart. had a bit more of a closer look at the super charger today. im presuming these spin anti clockwise normally which from what i can tell makes the outlet the left pipe in the pic above and the inlet the right pipe which seemed a bit weird as all the additional fittings are on the outlet side of the super charger does this sound right? also after droming yesterday i have decided to rebuild the entire drive line. hence why it is now all off. the V belt is complete fail for this much torque and im going to do some kind of multi rib slippable belt clutch system as this needs to be pretty much a drag bike now.
  11. ahh yeah a time i forgot that bit, we are unfortunately lazy and wont be there till about 1pm i would say.
  12. super charger? figured out i could spin the outlet so it faced the pulley like it is in the pics. this will make for easier plumbing. has a super small pulley on it and all keegan reckons i will find is pulleys the same size when it comes to cars so 1:1 drive it is as i now have pulleys. test burn with new narrower belt to fit my pulleys properly to see if i can get some power down and then time for super charger work. will make decision if i rework drive line to remove V belt after tomorrows test.
  13. so keegan got his bike going so we finally have more than 1 going bike in hamilton so we going to the hamilton drome for some testing. the TA drome was scoped out. houses were way to close like almost walk out your front door on to the track type close so it was decided we would last about 2 minutes there so hamilton it is. so yeh come have a geeze talk shit if your bored. and i think yowzer was having a shindig or something later on so beers might be possible after basking/racing in the sun.
  14. it is defiantly geared fast enough. i just want to get there much faster with the short straights of the velodrome. methanol is def on the cards. which by the way where is the easiest place to get meth from? i actually have no idea. i will build a longer exhaust as i do plan to put the wideband on it for initial tuning so i can at least get it close with out riding load on the engine and just make a clamp on style muffler as once it is tuned its coming off for sure.
  15. so this is what i am thinking. i am also using this to jot down notes. 8+14.7 = 22.7 22.7/14.7 = 1.54 300cc/2 = 150cc 3500x150 = 525000 525000*1.54 = 808500 808500/300 = 2695 2695/3500 = 0.77 so by my calcs i need to be 0.77 under driven to make 8psi of boost 3500rpm, i dont rev my bike much more than 3500-4000 rpm at current and i want to be making 8psi at those rpms. should make it scary enough i think. blower is on its way, mock up pics this weekend. also mr Kirk did you get that sthil?
  16. there was talk of using it as a leg guard, chop a section out and put a plate on front spec.
  17. super charger has its own separate sumps for oiling its self so it can just chomp down on straight burnable stuffs and loves it.
  18. nah i was going to run suck through. would have to figure out fuel pumps and so on if i was to go blow through. plus from what i have read superchargers love methanol through them and it keeps them cold. although it should stay pretty cool as it will be at the front of the bike anyways. ignition will be the fun part with running meth will have to figure out how to advance up the timing.
  19. for sure, have to get a new carb any ways, might as well get something for meth.
  20. its an amr300 which means it pumps 300cc of air per rev. my engine is 300cc and i did some working out with Bart and being 4 stroke it grabs 150cc of air per rev so the super charger at 1:1 drive will pump twice the air it will suck on its own and make about 14psi boost. so in my mind its pretty much perfect. it has a small 60mm pulley on it so for a 600cc engine id say it is being over driven.
  21. Jeah stage 2 aquired.
  22. if we do daytona then cock and balls is just down the road...
  23. taro patch haha. mean i like where this is going.
  24. please enquire, i like the sound of that.
  25. yeah they are easy to get a hold of and easy HP. Im going to keep this machine but i want to find like a 70cc chainsaw that does heaps of revs and build a super light weight probably alloy frame and see how fast i can make it go. probably make it lying down spec and possibly sheet alloy aero also. got this bike to run with till i find everything i need though so all is good.
