    i checked and it looks like there is play around the pin, it is not easy to get to either my doors don't open 90 degrees, more like 70 i guess, if thats what u mean?

    oh yea i should also put that the play is in the bottom hinge pin the hinge is fully welded on and theyre is no play in that the play is around the pin

    hey guys i need help to pass my warrent the guy said that i need to fix my door hinge it has about 3-5mm of play(up and down movement) in it how can i fix that? the pins are in there and i push them down a little bit and there is still a bit of play what should i do?

  9. davidian, i have standard brakes i think, i havent really looked at them i have never taken the front wheels off since i have had the car. i have no money at the mo but i am saving it haha i just want to look at a few different ideas/parts i could do/use and see what the costs are so i can decide. i was thinking of getting some ebc green stuff(i think or red stuff) pads the booster needs reconing i cant member what wrong with it but there is sumin wrong im not sure if this posts makes sence but there is too much blood in my alcohol system right now
  10. who knows what other brakes i can get that are better then the sedan that will bolt up to my escort estate, i know i can get the 9'' drums for the rear (if they will fit in the wheels) but what can i get to bolt up to the front? also what is a good reasonably prices brake booster? as mine is semi buggered

UPDATE finally well i not sure how long this is going to take me to complete but i have started any way. i was sick of having just one speaker sitting in a box between the two front seats this will clean the inside of the car up. they are just cheap 6x9's and they will do the job for now i am thinking of getting some thin padding and covering the whole panel in it and then covering it in material as the old side boards are pretty shagged i think i only have enough wood for one side at the mo
  13. yea i thought welding it up would be the only way, i dont really want to weld it up for road use. oh well ill just nana it around untill i decide on a lsd or whatever, if i took my houseing to a diff place do you think they would be able to find out if the houseing is fucked or not?

  16. i tried doing a skid on the first diff i had and only got one wheels going? im not saying im going to do skids but how do i get both spinning with my open diff? without water bleach diesel etc maybe my housing is fucked... any way you can tell my looking at it? maybe i should try the other housing? tramping wont help the diff either will it? all the vibrations will be very bad for it wont it. yea i know you have that mustang diff but at the mo fund dont allow that to happen also when i said it started stopped started etc i ment the wheels were getting traction then slipping then getting traction and tramping a little but not much so the quick changing of the loss and gain of traction wouldnt have been good for the diff thats why the spider gear shattered
  17. i dont understand diff ratios, i think the diff in my escort is the 1300 diff, thats probably why it keeps blowing also?

  19. no i have just been changing the diff head each time, i have another whole diff setup, i was thinking of changing the whole setup over, what are the differences between the 1600 sport axel's and normal escort ones i noticed someone posted picks up of his axels and the slpines were slightly twisted/wrapped around the shaft but mine were straight
  20. this time i was on a wet road, i was stopped and when i went to take of it started wheels spinning and so i tryed to get traction, it deffinatly wouldn't have revved past 4,000rpm then it stareted to get traction then loose traction and about 3 secs after the wheels started spinning the diff went BANG! so yea this all happened within about 3-4 secs max. thats one thing i dont get... why MY diff's keep blowing, the only things i could put it down to were power and 28yr old parts. i run the 4.1 ratio and i was also thinking i have seen other cars do many burn outs on standard diff so why do mine keep breaking it just keeps blowing the spider gears
  21. yea with a bit of extra strong super glue... or i could just weld it up and make a lock diff
  22. this is the remainders of the spider gears that i pulled out... where to i get escort lsd'd from? while i was under the car i noticed i had gas shocks to so i stiffened them up a bit
  23. i fixed it thanks for your help guys i just got a soft faced hammer and hit it out. and i wasnt doing skids either. also the diff setup i picked up cost $125 and has a 1600 sport half shaft in it so i thought that was a pretty good deal
  24. is there any tricks to pulling the drive shafts out mine dont seem to want to come out
