    Triumph 2.5

If the wheels are wild cat. They are real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! common on those. People used to lose the hub caps or have them stolen. the insurance companys would supply the wild cat wheels cos they where cheaper than the hub caps. As for wheels mate has a or had above beast with a rover 3.5. Went like stink it had 16" with tall side walls rode real well. No mods to the body as far as I know.
  2. anyone got the catchy things form the quater light windows on an escort or anglia. they are willing to part with. For less the cost of a kidney! Anything 70's english will do realy. I want to use them on my capri. Factory ones are just glued to the window and the window tends to fall out . So I need some to modify .
  3. Think I read in a Vizzard book not to fit these. Reckond you risked lossing power! Had the dyno graph to prove it.
  4. [ From memory 4wd helps traction under accleration but does nothing for cornering traction.... Not sure on that 4WD cars are to hight tech for me I'm just going off what the English police said.
  5. I"ll accept some of your thoughts but as for the 4WD yes it's not a SUV but the feed back from the 4WD Zodiac was off the scale.
  6. when ford build my capri it won't have timing gear either. What apprentice thought that one up.
  7. That's good coming from someone with a capri ....not that I can talk I've replaced a lot of ford parts with better non ford parts. I forgot to ask why are you going PS any way? ....I'd have thought a quick rack for the track for the weight savings and it's lees to go wrong. Ok I've been around capri for 12 years now give or take. I've always owned at lest one. Personaly I think they are great but did suffer a bit in the design department. for example. Why build a 3.0 V6 with a soild rear end and drums? They had an independent with discs! What happened to the antitram rods on the diff in 73? One shock either side of the diff is design failer! Why not 4WD? Sure massey fugason had stooped making the unit. But buy it and make there own! back on subject of PS. the car will be running 15" wheels on falcon hubs and stubs, not a big problem. The car will be used for sealed sprints, gravel sprints, hill climbs, club racing and long distance racing. Realy just want to future proof the car. It wont be space framed at first but could be later.
  8. Big thing to watch those are of TE/TF cortina not MK4/MK5. Means there aussie and they have way different front ends. Could make a huge hassle to fit. I'd try seirra rack. Should be heaps cheaper. As for a pump. It's only a pump so anything that fits realy. But sticking with jelly mould would make it easy.
  9. After some thought the BMW rack could be a very good option. Well engineered , easy to get bits for, and maybe cheap (if I can work out how to convert a LHD rack to RHD) Don't realy want to have to deal with a: F actory O rdered R oad D isaster
  10. That would be right, Murry has a 3L GLX from memory. Paul is a good guy, he's a friend of mine. I still haven't managed to talk him in to fuel injecting or turboing any of his cars yet I have to agree paul is a very good guy. Can't say turboing or injecting appeals to me either. But did toy with the idea of mechanical injection for the retro feel. And a mate turboed his 2.8i . It was scary.
  11. I've wrecked a few but never checked the rack. I know I should of, Normaly to busy flogging of the box and tunnel.
  12. Will check it out but would rather go with something cheap and easy to find. I know that changes everything again. But being a race car spare parts a re a must. But will check into it
  13. Was that Paul or Murry.... the chch club can be presious some times I think it was murray I have spoken to paul a few times and bought some stuff off him found him to be quite normal.
  14. I realise 2.8i had ps I owned one many years back. I did not realise they where sold here. I thought they where only privately imported. I would try to get the info from the local club but when I was talking to the president of the club he had a mental, when I told him what I was doing. Seemed to think it was wrong to use a GXL shell for a race car. But it was ok for him to put injection on his 3.5 engine and a falcon 5speed. I'm afraid I wrote the club off. But if the track is the same the rack should fit.
  15. Power steer only came out in MK3 and don't think they where sold new here. which means there aint many here. so would rather not have to import one and find it doesn't fit.
  16. Capri's are wider than escorts but why would that affect you from putting in that style powered steering colum? That kit is full electric and still uses your factory rack I was worried about width beacuse a rack that fits a escort would be to narrow for a capri. I think. I'm pretty sure.
  17. I posted before I read the site. Your right the kit looks great. But same problem as the SW20 pump. It's electric
  18. thanks I think the capri is a little wider but this should be a step in the right direction.
  19. Thats cool racers are a strange beast. But that SW20 pump could come in handy.
  20. Thanks for that I can get my hands on one but I'll stick with the holden due to it being mechanical and the car being a racer I'll have precous little electrical power.
  21. I thinking of putting power steering into one of my capri projects. Has anyone done it before? I'm thinking a siera rack as I think there about the same size and tie rods should be the same taper(I hope) The car will be used for circut mainly so not worried about cert and wof. just needs to be strong. Looking at a VK holden power steer pump due to the remote mounting of the reservoir.
  22. Don't they have rubber crosses instead of CV. I think a turbo will pull them apart.
  23. to be honest if you want to drive a rice rocket. Why not spend half the cash and buy one? Much easier than putting on in a shitter that will never handle as well.
  24. Not sure if you have davids book. But I know from when I had it and a 2L there is alot of power in the head. Becareful with the inlet ports.
