  1. I think how well it goes is up to you.
  2. Thats always the best way to go. Find a piston the right diameter and right pin height.

    SHORTENING STRUTS

Try autoline. Not sure of cost
  4. They may not be a gemni piston maybe the block has been bored to suit them. Doing just that to my capri. Using falcon a three hundy a set half the cost of capri.
  5. Fuel line wont be a problem. My MK1 capri had a dual system added. The line out from the fuel tank. Ran right be side the exaust. In fact the touched.
  6. If you do go electric remember not to cover more than 2/3 of the rad. You still need free air flow for open road driving. Fans only work up to about 60 km
  7. I know the car my old boss Jeff clare ownes it. It is worth every dollar. Second most successful saloon car in NZ. Behind one of the PDL mustangs. For the record I don't think halliday built it pretty sure it was an Allan Maan. Also owned by Jim Richards .
  8. For sure I mean how driveable would a BDA be. I mean as an everyday car. I've been in the silly seat of one of the fastest in the country. Dean Buist from palmside. It was scary !
  9. I havn't read all the postings on here but is this a race car or rally car. Seems like alot of money to spend om a road car.
  10. If I've got my GXL back on the road I'll be there. Sounds like a good time to test the new HD gear box.
  11. 3.22 on the prefacelift mk1 v6.... I paid $250 for mine about 6 years ago. True that. Prices have gone through the roof on capri stuff now. I bought a rusty as hell parts car about 6 years ago cost a hundered pinga now they sell for close to a grand.
  12. No idea sorry but I don't think it will be that high. As far as I know the highest ratio for used factory was 3.09 and thats in mk1 V6 capri. Never seen one of those for sale for less than five hundy. When I do I'll buy it.
  13. What ratio you need? Mk3 cortina 1600cc auto wagon had an atlas I think. Whole car must be worth 50 bucks tops
  14. Someone payed nearly two hundy for it. What a laugh
  15. Yeah right I've heard that before. As soon as its on the road the power isn't enough and outcomes the wallet again For the better... True story unless you have a cheap atlas for sale.
  16. Falcons aren't realy a 9" I don't think but thats splitting hairs. Yeah they have to be shortened and the stud patten is wrong. But the ideal thing for my race car.
  17. Most likely will just port match and rejet the carb up a bit. I can't afford/justify upgrading the drive line to coup. I'm running a heavy duty gear box but can't find a cheap option on the diff. So rather than over stress stuff that will be expensive to replace . I'll just turn down the dreams.
  18. I should of posted this a while ago. I've spoken to a guy who used to be head of the design department , at hamilton jet working on the inlet manifolds for the v6. In his opion the factory manifolds are not good. he suggested rasing the carb. With regard to which carb he thinks the 38 weber is good for about 180bhp. As he said to me all his work was for boats so the desired torque curve was different. But the overal out come is about the same. He suggested port polish and a tickle of the cam. I guess as with all old manifolds the casting is super tidy so port and polish should open up plenty of power. Apparently Hamiltions did it to all thier motors.
  19. Have now thanks bid placed. I'm sure it will go for way more than I'm willing to bid. But if my gear box goes then I can bid more. Have to be in to win!
  20. For sure but it's a handy thing to have in the back of the brain for a rainy day.
  21. Basics are I need one for a MK4 zephyr gear box may be the same as a Mk2 V6 capri as they both used the same box. IE external linkages.
  22. I know this is slightyly off topic. MK4 zephyr head will bolt into a seria housing .
