  1. I have a 206 GTI wagon that doesn't light my fire but it's quick over the remutakas. Bought it for $1k because it had a misfire. New coilpack didn't fix it so I pulled injectors out of a pick a part car and found the orings had broken in the originals. New orings sorted it.

Small wagon with factory roof rack and towbar made for a real practical car. Used about 7l/100km.

I say used because a rat got under the dash and had a good chew so it's now a lawn ornament.

Weird old fashioned dashboard, drum rear brakes, door cards don't cover the doors. And 14" pepperpots and 1.6 but this guy's put phase 2 wheels and a GTI6 engine on/in it.

Pepperpots remind me of my old workmate's xr2.  Used to have much fun low speed racing against me in my k10.

  3. Thanks guys, the glow plugs came out ok. I'll pull the sump plug and make sure it's got oil in the bottom then give it a bash.

Hopefully I haven't killed it, was going slow though.

  4. We had a bit of rain yesterday and the ford was looking a bit high and out of shape so I decided to call on the big wheels of my new 90s Isuzu elf.

Unknown to me the bottom of the air filter housing had been broken/lost and someone had just driven some screws in to hold the filter in place.

As soon as it hit the water, the engine stopped and wouldn't turn over.

I pulled the truck out with the mighty grey Ferguson and now it's sitting in the drive.

So what can I do? My gut says to take out the glow plugs and turn it over but there's a radiator in front of the crank pulley and reaching in there doesn't seem to be a nut to put a socket on.

  5. @johnny.racebottom ones. There's one good one from 8, 3 have side play and 4 are complete toast. The grenaded ones have the remains of bearing races in them, not sure if they're salvageable.

Bought the digger off a mate and he said he'll sort them for me. I don't mind rebuilding them if I can else I'll just let him sort it.

  6. If you go to dedicated LPG you can increase the CR too and claw back some of the efficiency loss.

Another plus is LPG doesn't condense on the cylinder walls like petrol does during cold starts, which dilutes the oil and causes cylinder/piston/ring wear.
