I had one once (Austin 1300), I used to say it was like driving a big mini. I just checked, and they're still quite a bit smaller than a new mini.

I thought the rear brake seemed a bit rough. Might change the front pads too, the performance is underwhelming. Anyone recommend any Honda pads? FT400 but I heard they used the same pads on everything in the 80s.

Aren't the R plugs supposed to stop tv interference?

Today I learned the supertrapp was designed to silence the eight Doritos that powered this thing:

My mate's mum had one of them and I loved it. Wouldn't even be bothered by the slushbox. I'm an idiot.
Total bodyshop are all all good. Was the first place you tried that shop on queen St Masterton?

Should have bought a plasma cutter, welder and milling machine then you could have just made the hoist.

Maybe ask the person doing the lvvta cert, which you'll need if you're changing the structure.

And if they'd make the engine bay wide enough there might have been a free 911 powered minors.

One of you small bike pests should buy the TS50 Hustler on TM

Right then. Getting myself emotionally prepared for the conversion to dual fuel. Trying to find any information on diagrams online is a little tricky. Mostly because of the idiot behind the keyboard.
Can anybody steer me right with a diagram so I know what to hunt for? From memory it went tank - regulator - mixer - carb. I do recall needing about 1km of open highway to switch from petrol to LPG. I sure hope technology has improved since those heady days.
I did a couple of conversions in a past life
Tank - solenoid - regulator - mixer - carb
And solenoid on the petrol line too (for carb engine, probably cut power to pump/ injectors for EFI motor)

I got one done in 1997 for $90 so with inflation you're probably looking at $1300

I've had a blue license ever since they brought in the photo ones, because of 6L
Only time it was a problem was when I hired a car in USA, the guy looked in his book and told me I was wrong about having a full car license. Luckily I also had a UK license without the learner bike.
I really should go do that test.

In white! Nice. Ideal doerupperer and then cheap town car for @cubastreet @Nominal@Nominal or @Borgweiser
My next car will probably be auto. Been trying to get Mrs cubastreet to drive manual for 23 years and I concede defeat.

Biofuels are in a bit of a limbo because it's cheaper to just take all that fuel out of the ground, distill it and burn it. At the same time we can't keep doing that because the polar bears' houses are melting and causing the sewers in Florida to bubble up into the streets.
In the long term if the whole supply chain is running on biofuel things will get closer to carbon neutral, but even though ethanol burns pretty clean, ICEs burn lubricating oil (ever owned a Mitzi?) and they're also really inefficient.
So we need 1) better batteries 2) more efficient production and handling of hydrogen and 3) a fuel cell that can run on biofuel
As much as I like the feed the world sentiment, humans are bastards and already produce more than enough food for the world but the rich countries just get obese and throw away food to maximise profit.

None of them are anywhere near carbon zero, so not likely to be included in a carbon zero plan. A car set up for dual fuel may even emit more CO2/km running on lpg because the CR will be well below optimum. Yes CNG & LPG are cleaner, but you're still burning dinosaurs.
Compare with renewably sourced electricity/biodiesel/bioethanol.

From NZTA.
A motor vehicle (not a trailer):
- owned by a farmer, and
- used on a road only for agricultural operations, and
- only used on the road to go from one part of the farm
to another part of the same farm, or from one farm to
another farm owned or managed by the same person.

I thought farm reg was just if you're going from one of your farms to another of your farms for farmy business.
What happens if you're pulled over somewhere that's not between your farms?

It’s cleaner too by up to 27%, isn’t this the transition to carbon zero the retarded govt want?
No, it produces less particulates, NOx etc. LPG is still non renewable carbon fuel.

It's the natural thing to do to an old 2t.
My mate bought a Suzuki x7 in chch and got nearly to Picton before it seized. That was about 20 years ago now and it's still sitting under his house. Sadly his diy plumbing has turned it into a paddling pool there and it's rusty af
