  1. so confused whether to leave it as it is or to move it back further and cut the sump more and shorten pick up or to flip the sump and extend the pick up. Pros and cons people ???? not fussed if i have to wing the sump
  2. boe whered you get ur 24mm sway bar from i want one and cant find anything bigger then 20 and 19 is factory so thats not much of a imporvement any help would be appreciated
  3. no the oil pick up in the sump. to modify the sump any further the dipstick needs to be moved
  4. putting my 4agte into my wagon i realized sump needed cutting so ive cut it back as close to the oil pick up as i could but with the engine sitting flat in the car the back of the block is about 5cm away from the firewall and i dont know if i need to move the oil pickup or what? i know others have put 4ages into eskis on here so if someone could give me some advice on what they have done it would be great.

    hey some of u probably know im putting a 4agte into my m2 wagon and i was just wondering if anybody has had to make any mounts to do this ive test fitted it today and it JUST fits the intake manifold inside the brake booster bracket but the sump didnt clear so im getting that cut and shut tomorrow but then im going to need some mounts. if anybody has any they could take measurements off mk2 gts would be great thanks.
  7. sweet so it will run fine thats sweet then thought i betta get my facts straight before i hassle the guy i bought it off. um also does anyone have a wiring diagram for a v2/v3 link computer running a 4agte with dizzy because i cant seem to get the website link to work properly and i may have to dissasemble some of the wiring loom to tidy it up and get it to fit nicely in my car thanks..
  8. so i just got all my 4agte and link and crap. but it doesnt have a tps wired up no plug and no wiring to the computer. thats not right is it ive got a link V2 or 3 i think the guy i bought all my stuff off said it was the same any help appreciated

  10. apparently some volvo 4 pots fit over vented discs. ne1 have ne im keen for ap or for whatever volvo 4 pot it is that fits.
  11. is it possible/how hard is it to put capri vented rotors onto a mk2 escort struts can u just change the disc. im going to use ap or volvo 4 pot calipers so will have clearance for vented rotors

    what sort of 13inch wheels i have performance superlites. what model discs and calipers did u use apparently the volvo and has alsorts of different models. definately want discs at the back. if for nothing else then for bling/resale value to moron 16yr olds
  15. hey just wondering about front brake upgrades on a escort. ive heard about the volvo 4 pot/bmw disc route but then u need 14" wheels. i need some discs that will fit under 13 inch wheels. so i was thinking ae82 discs at the back mounted to hilux lsd. and im still not sure what to do up the front i want decent calipers and vented discs but im not sure what to use. something that i can use without needing a new master cylinder would be great but ill have to see. any ideas?

    thanks guys will try when i get home. i thoguht it may have been a master cylinder issue but i drove the car around like this for a year with no problems only since its been sitting and ive put it back on the road.

    just wondering if you guys have had any similar problems. have a mk1 escort that was 4 wheel drums with no booster. ive fitted mk2 front stuts to it and it all worked fine when i last had it on the road have had it off the rd for about a year. got a new wof lately and now after a while of driving the front brakes sound like they are staying on. if i keep driving like that the car makes a horrible noise and starts shaking and vibrating but that stops as soon as i touch the brakes. the pads are brand new and i have flushed all new fluid through the lines. any thoughts on what it could be???

    prolonged abuse on thrashed engines ie m8 had one thrashed from bout 80.00km to 160,000km and it dropped a ring eventually but we used to start it drive out the drive and then nail it to rev limiter in 1st that combined with massive load ie 8000rpm in 4th at 200kph we finally killed it but they are pretty bullet proof with decent new bearings and arp rod bolts

    yeah mate built 7agte 86 back in the day had heapsa torque eat ca18 for breakfast. but i guess u could build a ca20det that would be quicker still so i dno.

    reason i ask about 4agte vs ca is that i reallllllllly dont wanna have to piss around with a new wilwood style pedal box and i have seen a 4age fit in a eski wag with standy big ass booster on old skool sumwhere and that had the bluetop 86 manifold id be using a cut n shut red top manifold with a bigger tb on it so should fit easy. i would use a w55 box they are only bout 300 nd can get a nite parts bellhousing for deals. when were you coming on boost with the rona with the old set up????? i was thinking of running basically the same set up except maybe a set of forgies and shot peening the rods and some bigger cams hoping for maybe 210 - 220kw atw on say 22psi and yea 4agte make the good sound:D

    4age vs ca18

    has anyone got any pictures of a ca18det in a escort engine bay. what sort of clearance issues are there? any sump modifications needed? what about to fit a s14 5 speed do these bolt up to a ca18? what sort of weight difference is there with a ca18det compared to a 4agte. aftermarket parts prices???? how strong are they standard what sort of kw does a ca18 start breaking? standard bits becoming restrictive??? i REALLY dont wanna stuff around with putting a pedal box in the car and i know a 4age intake will clear it if mounted on a very slight angle????. any help would be appreciated. am looking for 200kw approx atw and i know this is VERY do able with a 4agte ie look at the red rona making 197kw atw with standy engine.
  24. screw streetable if we wanted streetable cars wed all just nana spec 3e powered ee82 corollas wouldnt we. straight cut is stronger then standard boxes because the gears arent trying to push apart from each other under load. when they try to push each other apart they have less surface area touching and hence forth go bang. just do it. dog box ftw
  25. to do a mk2 strut conversion on a mk1 u use the mk1 top caps and u put mk1 shock insets into the mk2 struts and then they fit but u also need to use a mk2 steering rack which kinda fits because the tie rod end taper sizes are different why dont u jst swap sway bars and put capri stuts up front.
