  1. yea, ill end uo taking the wheels to quik strip in avondale, i geuss my main question is what will acid dipping do to a head? or what does the process involve, because if it doesnt eat at any metal then i dont see any problem with the head being acid dipped too?
  2. i just got another mini for parts, theres a few things on it i want on the nice mini, but there not in the best of condition. The things im thinking about are the rims and the head. ive thaught about this a bit but im wondering if anyone here knows more about acid dipping, if im dipping the head then it can exactly take any metal off only the carbon and shit. any info on acid dipping in general would be appreciated
  3. slotting is pretty dodgey, have a talk to mag and turbo, they get them undrilled i think so u can just ask for watever you want (dont quote me on that) either that or juat talk straight to performance wheels in oz who make modgies hope its some help

  8. i have a 1984 toyota corrola ae82 as my daily friver, its not running quite right, which i think is either the leads, or the fuel pump maybe. but the thing is (this might sound stupid) when i turn the headlights on, the running quality gets worse, it cuts in and out more often, stutters and the revs drop. any suggestions on what this could be? (ive cleaned the carb, checked battery terminals, its not the battery itself, its not the alternator as bat is charging.)

  10. i just baught a full gasket and seal kit 4 the mini and started tearing the engine apart, but only really managed to get a couple of the gaskets in before realising how exhausted i am, so, now i have a bunch of paper, cork and metal gaskets that im not completely sure how to care for... it might be a slightly random question but will the moisture in the air affect them or anything? is there something i should do to keep them as pristine as possible until i work on it again? any help would be appreciated

  14. on older cars, they dont need mirrors at all to pass the warrent,(feel free to take the mirrors off completely eg my mini) much the same as some cars with no backseat belts etc. as it is an option from factory eg dont quote me on this lol
  15. does anyone here know of a website that lists the factory hp/kilowatt output of cars? sortof like an encyclopedia of cars and their hp/kw?

  20. yea, ive thaught about suspension etc 2, im really just trying to get my head around it before anything actually gets under way... im not after insane amounts of power but i cant really afford to do many things more than once so im just asking around to see what people would reccomend etc

  22. hey cortina_mk1, im just wondering, i presume you weighed up the options between the c18det and the sr20 det, what pushed you towards choosing the c18det, on topve that, what diff and running gear did you use?
  23. yea, i have had a loom there, its proposed a few questions but all mainly ones i cant attack until i have the car and engine in front of me.. lol
