  1. Discussion Thread //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/21411-solidstripes-beast/?hl=solidstripe#entry555386 Me '79 Nissan Cedric SGLE. Got some Cheivot Quattro's in the mail coming up from the S.I. Getting them Cromed lip with goldplated centres. (If they even fit!!) Almost saved up enough for the paint job, going to be Nissan White Pearl with a Rosey tint in the clear gloss if that's possible. Factory paint at the mo, primered boot. Need a new drivers tail light and passengers side badge. Enginewise it's running the L20e straight 6. Going to leave it like that for a while. But will be putting twin pollished straight downpipes on either side at the rear. Inside's not to bad. Carpet is a wee bit shaggy and there's rips in the rear seat headrests. Will retrim them at a latter date. ICE - Rockin' the cassette player at the mo but I broke it. So CD player going in with good but basic sound install. With something very different going to be thrown in which I haven't seen before but will keep ya's posted. King spring up front with reset leaves at the back, dropping it a few inchs and monroe shocks. Wheels and Paint are the 1st goals. Mods, can this be a open discusion with replys allowed cause I don't want to start up new topics for every question I have along the way. Feel free to reply! Edited, just found the project discusion place.
  2. Soda blast!! Not DIY (i think) but works a treat!!
  3. Your going to fit a top mount interwarmer?! Like Subaru?! Mate, IMO that's not the most efficient place to put an intercooler, right above where all the engine heat rises-
  4. Yeah, just pay the $50 or so for each guard to be done by a pro. That way when you damage the outside of the guard you don't have to pay for bog, sandpaper, time, primer, paint etc...
  5. Yeah, I think 170hp and 255 Nm? Compression is 7.5. Your's have the intercooler mate? When I was waying up the conversion issue for the GTO I was thinking of putting on a VR-4 one on with a bit of custom piping. But you not going to mod? Pretty busy engines with alot of wires and pipes running eveywhere too, try to deloom that puppy!
  6. Just been in touch with the former owner, seems it has a 280z rear diff!!!
  7. Here she is as promised. Running a carbied L26 straight 6 2.6L out of a Nissan 260z. Hopefully get a the head port and polished, twin carb setup and a tune. Goes pretty good as she is now, but more power is allways good (most of the time). I'm think of swaping the wheels for some 15 or 16" ROH Reflex's. What do you guys think? 8. Josh has a point there, this is indeed coltspeeds thread and not a place for us to be taking away anything that should go to him and his insane car. I'll post up pics/start my own post in the next day or two, where this discussion can continue.
  9. Thanks man, I stumbled upon it, it's a model that looks just like my skyline but a bit lower with different wheels. Same paint job though!
  10. IMO this is one of the best GTO's in NZ (obviously) and THE best one I've ever seen, pictures or real life, I've heard rumors of a GTO in Tauranga running close to or around 400 Horse on a EVO 0 engine, with full roll cage. But have yet to see and believe. But Coltspeeds is just share brilliance, in my opinion the exterior is flawless and can't be bettered. I'd allways wondered what kind of mirrors you had man
