  1. Datsun insult !

    my l200

Definately check out your tyres as this sounds like it could be a tyre prob' as in a steelbelted tyre that has a fault (Are any of your tyres old?) It is very similar to a shagged wheel bearing noise...
  2. It's all good stuff to know, Most the wee rust repairs I have done over the years have just been to keep old shitters up to w.o.f standards, I can see now why I was having too touch them up again after a year or so Any of the better stuff I have owned gets to go to the professionals. Cheers
  3. Thanks for that, I was pretty sure that there was some export yellow etch primer in our local S C store (I don't have any desire for my etch primer to be yellow! but I didn't see any other colour.) guess if I'm wanting it to last I should be Expecting to shell out more than $3 a can
  4. Had now idea how much trouble posting on this old thread was going to get me into! I did explain myself in "off Topic" but it was removed...Never to mind
  5. Now see that wasn't that hard... If I think an old thread is still relevent cant see any harm in posting on it , saves starting a whole new thread covering the same stuff. There is a lot of good information (And alot of crap ) on here, on those old threads...I have spent more time on here reading than posting....... Cheers Check out; //oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic. ... ght=#35320 (how spooky is that Fuel?)
  6. He he a "Newbie" yeah right! Only 5 days less time on here than you.....Any way this was a relevent thread to ask my question.....SO.... do you have an opinion on the S C paint?
  7. Is that yellow etch primer that you get from super cheap any good... two cans for $6 at the mo' Cheers
  8. 8)Hey blakamin, if the latter model tail lights that you have for your Merc' are those "louvered" (they have horizontal ridges) type ones then that'd be a good look... Just not sure what would be the attraction in a "purpleish hue" to yor tail lights...Seems like going thru "pimp my ride" and ending up at "queer eye for the straight guy" Lol Sorry about all the ""
  9. As long as the oil states on the container that it is suitable for petrol engines and is the correct grade you shouldn't have a problem.... Most "petrol" engine oils are ok to use in light duty diesels...just check out the labels.....Where things can get a little messy is when you go form using a "diesel" engine oil back to regular engine oil, especially in old Mitsiys as you will notice an increase in oil consumption...Delo 400 is my favourite for a tired old mitsi. (Keeping in mind the reason people use diesel engine oil in their petrol engined car is because the motor is pretty much on it's way out, it's bugger all of a risk)
  10. Ummm isn't that pin on the crank to insure you fit the fly wheel (That is factory balanced to suit) in the correct position.... May not amount to frig all but it is worth checking out ... Have a look at the outer edge of the flywheel (Back or front) and there is probably some holes in a row on one part of the flywheel they will only be partially drilled... Just a thought.....
