ok question is the 1300 oil pump the same as the 1600?? i just split mine in half

i had a 1300gt bracket spare but now it on my 1300 hc lol its now got a 32/36 on it ...bit of an overfuleling but hey the backfires are kewl , witht eh bracket i think its about and inch too far to the left and about an inch too low .....trust me i tried to fit a 28/36 carb wit the standard bracket ...and guess what lol

well i got the seals and such in plce now im just waiting for my rings and bearings, on another note my 1300 has a 32/36 on it now lol

ok mine want chrome but i could see a vaue resemblance of a reflection in it ...good enoguh for me consdidering they looked like arse before

well i just did a quick 320 grit then autosol and it came out mint (did about 30 cms of rim took me 20 mins lol )

mine does 2k in 4th at 60 about 3k in fourth at 80 i think ...cant quite remember and yea my car screams at 4500 and im reluctant to go over that aswell lol

well today i thought id take the hea off to change the headgasket (which i think is on its way out) anyhoe pulled it to pieces and my dad forgot the torque wrench , ok thats just great well i thhough id try the 28/36 on the 1300 so i set upon pulling everything apart , then realisd that the freaking manifold was the wrong shape and the coolant connector thing was not pointing the right way ...ok now im gettin annoyed so i went and grabbed a spanner and tried to turn ti aorund ..pull,pull,pu....SNAP ...ok there goes the top part of the connect or , this is about the time that i start ging red in the face , as now i have NO 1600 manifold OR 1300 head great this mean im wlaking the 5km to work JUST FUKING GREAT ...thee end ...srry had to share ...oh and i got the manifold and gasket bak on then ...tada the gasket sags and now it might as well be as useful as this post ...not my day ! ..on the bright side i got my gauge

well the head is unusuable so i suppose im gettin that one ...that pisses me right off that does!!! oh well

well im looking at the 100hp figure as a starting point as i dont wanna go out and say "aww yea work my 1600 make 200hp bro eat ur evo ow" the reason i aint going 2litre is i am a newb to engines and i can safley say that the x-flow has to one fo the most simple engines out ....and its easier to put in etc if the 1600 works out ..then the 2litre will get dropped in but 1600 is 2hr to put in 2ltr takes a weekend and i dont have that patience ...i only have one car and need to use it daily, there my whole life story

k thanks guys lowmk2 ur piston what spec re they ...just the 060 oversize or are they custom built ones? had a guy come into work today ..hsa a mk1 esky that has a 2ltr in it ....a grand worth of headwork ...he siad he's been through so many sets of tyres in 3 months its not funny ..lol gotta get a 2ltr!!!

yea thats what i was told by the guy too umm how much did it cost you roughly? i got all the prices for the pistons new bearings and the cam is gonna cost 90-130 depending on wether my cam is suitable but like for the boring and headwork how much ? oh i also got the price for the seats and re-surfacing the head but never bothered asking about the port and polish >are u able to do this by yourself or is it preferable to get it done professionally?

yea compression is 10:1 or sumfing the grindis a bsc2 for the cam or something the likes

well so i got a 1600 and pulled it apart and the rings are screwed (how surprising) anyway i rang a guy up from acl and he seemed to know a shitload about escorts and suggested a 1300 piston conversion (his name was henry if anyone wants to know). anyhow he siad that itd be good to get new pistons id need a reground cam and headers and a bigger carb(or jet the one i have) at any rate ive now decided to basically replace everything thats not the block itself in there bearings etc ...has anyone does this conversion and whats the outcome?? any help appreciated

ExACT same thing hapens to me everynow and then itll just lose some MAJOR power and mine sounds like its running on three cylinders....ill stop it for a few hours and itll fix itself ...damn screwed up esky 1300 engines lol .....ive done the timing heaps and its still alll good so its a loss to me what the hell is going on ....oh and my car runs on gulls 96 fuel which i heard is pretty good ...and if im feeling really generous 98 from bp ... my dizzy is all nice and snug so is the rotor havent checked the wieghts and im not going to cos there a perfectly fine 1600 watin for me to pick up
