I actually quite like the mr-S. They look sweet in yellow and apparently are very good handling, just under powered.
Sorry. I'll leave now. I'll get my handbag on the way out.
MR-S is awesome, and hugely underrated. Genuinely a better driving experience than either of the MR2 that came before it, just needs a 2ZZ dropped in the hole for a bit more poke, or if you're super awesome, a Honda K series. Great cars.
GR Corolla is cool. I'd own one, and may be in a position to choose between one of those or a new Civic R by the end of the year. Heart says I want a Honda but I'd super dead keen to get behind the wheel of the Corolla and see how it compares. The only thing to me is, I feel weird about AWD in a hot hatch, no rational reason, just that I think 'hot hatches' by definition ought to be front tuggers.- 7

Is it similar to @Thousand Dollar Supercar one. Sort of rubbery and a bit flacid. Very awkward to slot in into the right spot?...
Very flacid and awkward. Spot on description.

I feel like a Mk1 Golf is probably not the right benchmark to compare it against when you're talking weight and steering feel....
The worst part is the traditional FWD Alfa gearshift.

Looks like 2 5spd 147s and a Selespeed 147. Even better if you can find shit at PaP for them!

Alfa 147 twinspark manual.
Way more fun than a 156, actual nimble little chassis, reliable engine and box (as long as you keep cambelt services in check) and it makes oldschool sounding twincam noises.
Great fun cars and worth dirt.

Perhaps this is a very good opportunity to ramp up the notion of the Japanese Nostalgic Car club, Myles still operates in some very limited capacity but I wonder if he would like someone to get on board and help spread the gospel? At the very least it could help shape the community required to speak loud enough for anyone to listen?
Definitely not opposed to the more modern examples coming through, as both my ITR and a 22B were part of the Ellerslie lineup last year.

^great opportunity for a story in your regular NZPC spot, explore the beginnings and purpose of NZHRA and LVVTA particularly with a reference to threats to a hobby, and maybe rally some support with ideas for similar?
You could call it NZ Modern Classics Association but I think someone already has NZMCA
(intriguingly the NZMCA also lobby on behalf of their collective member base too)

Jump on Amayama - I bet you'll be able to get most bolts, genuine.
You probably won't find your chassis number but you'll find a Japanese market model and most of those fasteners will be identical.
Way better than bolt shop bolts, with their silly 13mm heads etc.

Dektites work well, if you have a console going over the top of it

From the limited information at hand, it looks like it might be a prime example to ruin with some slam and wheels! Still has a radio blanking plate? That's rad.

Was pretty crazy seeing it thread the needle through all the traffic! Wild experience!
It's brilliant. Shooting this and yarning to the crew is one of my favourite picture taker memories.

Fitted up the TE37, finally. The tyres are Lakesea Gredge 07RS semi slicks, a re-branded Zestino that's a 140TW DOT rated semi. They were meant to be Zestino, but the local distro got sent an incorrect batch of 205/45/16 only with the Lakesea branding. Subsequently, these were specialled off at $50 per tyre, which I decided was a no-brainer to get the TE's shod in some rubber. I like the look, although I think I prefer it best on the RG still.

Assuming you are only looking for the look of stainless braid rather than any performance gain on the non pressurized side, you'd probably get away with some rubber lined stainless braided hose and clamps.
Personally I'd run a rubber hose for this application and call it job done.
Another option would be a machined stub that presses in with the - 3an or whatever nipple you desire threaded /welded to that, perhaps cooled slightly to make it an interference fit on installation.
I like the idea of a press-fit plug/stub. Thread it, weld in a nipple and be done. You could even machine an o-ring groove in it.

Jeeez man get some sticky tyres on that, put a piece of railway iron in the back for a swaybar and go and 3-wheel like hell around all those lovely roads around your way.

Maybe not so much for a road car but one thing that intrigued me for a rwd race car like a starlet or escort would be to drop in a sprint car style quick change rear end..
There will be a reason I haven't thought of why this is a dumb idea, but man you can pour some cash into shortening an oem diff if you are outsourcing all the work.
That silver KP Starlet at OS Drags last time, had a sprint car Winters in it.

So far, this has been going pretty well. Aside from some problems with cracking on the headers, the car has run pretty well. There's a few tune-based things to tidy up but nothing that really affects the drivability.
All the Pioneer stereo gear is now functional. I use a Bluetooth cassette adaptor off Aliexpress to enable me to retain total tape functionality and play tunes from Spotify. It works much better than expected.
I also went to town on my cert-spec wheels, as I figured it best look pretty good when I do have to take it for a WOF! Results as below.
