  1. can anyone confrim wether or not that the sigma 4g63 crossmember mounts the motor 10mm further rearward than the lancer 4g32 one? meaning more interference with the firewall when fitting a vr4 motor cheers
  2. yea thats what im waying up i guess at the reduced cost of the starion motor and gbox compared to just the vr4 motor lets say 1g for starion gbox and motor and 2g for just vr4 motor i can throw an extra grand at a larger turbo and mpi for the motor, id really neded to be modding head and cams for 250hp though wouldnt i?and the pistons guna end up spending more on it than a vr4 engine would cost arent i? whats the best way to go about changing the lancer to hydraulic clutch? id much rather be blowing up sigma gboxes than blowng up starion engines , plus the sigma gbox requires so little modding to fit and allthough its pretty every one wants a nice looking engine in there engine bay too
  3. if i was going to go to the effort of changing the starion block to twincam head etc id rather just go vr4 from the start leave it stock and see how the cable clutch sigma box holds up macabres getting 190kw out of his which would do me perfectly rebuild changing all that sounds $$$$ gotta buy two engines so would allready be costing more plus labour and new parts and get all the bad points of the rear of the vr4 head with the cas and water outlets. perhaps vr4 with sigma box and if im blowing them up constantly then get a stronger box?the b2600 with s4 and 5 rx7 gearbox is only for the wideblock version too according to the yanks? so the shoc starion engine is bollocks?the only benefit of it seems the gbox?can u put the starion internals in a sigma box?
  4. ok have been doing even more research looking at the starion motor and gbox which i have now been able to find just by stroke of luck after having a converstaion with someone the increased gbox strength would definately be a bonus but the power output of the engine is looking at options like mpi, and a bigger turbo as i would wanting around 250rwhp out of watever engine i put in going after that sort of power am i better off starting with a vr4 engine as the are just better overall. i cannot see myselfowning the car for long enough or being prepared to do a vr4 conversion to the starion motor i want roughly 250rwhp whats going to be cheaper a vr4 engine or a starion with mpi etc figure the money i would hopefully save on the starion engine could be spent on the upgrades, but if its guna be piss weak then theres no point as i will give it a thrashing
  5. the narrow body l200s are the d50 gboxs correct? and the strongest narrow gboxes a nd has any one got any pics of there cas and water outlets by the firewalls?cas i guess you just bash till it fits but would love to see how people have modded there water lines to fit. any one done the frost plug mod?would rather not do this as sounds like it doesnt cool suffeciently
  6. is there any difference between the l200 box and the 2l n/a sigma box?as in is either stronger than the other?the seem to be the best option for a narrowblock turbo any others? both will straight swap over with the ex lancer cable clutch setup? what is the best way to get around the cas and water outlet problem? is it just a case of bash room for them in the firewall and make the water do a quick u turn and run it under the inlet manifold? sump need modifying? all vr4 blocks have rwd mount option?the only 4g63t narrowblock that does?any evo motors have them? sorry if any of these questions are stupid but i only have a 1200cc ex lancer and pics to look at im wanting to get as much info as poss before i go ahead with anything so making sure ive got everything covered
  7. got any clear pics of it on the tarmac evos mate? cheers
  8. ok this is a bit went to adjust the drum brakes on the rear of my 81 ex lancer and i cant find the adjusting bit anywhere on the other cars iv had its been at the bottom of the drum in the middle the lancer just has two round things thought they mite be covers but tried to pop them off and no luck if someone could point me in the right direction thatd be mint as i need to have a play to try and pass warrent as my foot pedal brake reading is down on the rear drivers side cheers
  9. are there any issuses with wiring when swapping from a 1200 to the 2 litre? as in do you need to remire anything?
  10. u will get postive camber can fix it with adjustable strut tops (expensive but the best way) or redrilling controll arm bolts (rangi) main reason i posted was too put this pic up tho figured another v dub wouldnt hurt back wheels ftw!
  11. ok boys and girls i am looking at getting my ex lowered in the near future it is my daily driver so there are a few conditions i want for lowering 1.it cant be expensive as any money i spend on this baby means money i aint spending on my other car 2.i dont really want to go to the trouble of shortening my front shocks due to condition 1 3.I want it to be legal as i dont want any troubles come wof time etc. 4.i still want it to look good as other wise theres no point its on 15 inch rims with 195/50s i realise i will have to do something about the rear shocks.wat year mirage do the rear shocks come out of??i assume it is a circa 82 mirage???the gay looking ones how low can i get my front springs compressed without having to shorten the shocks in the front??rxtoy said 3 inches isnt trapped so wat level would be?
