Almost time to fire it up

Interiors all finished also and starting to look like a proper car.

Boots all finished off..run all the fuel lines from tank to pump and carb. battery lines also run from starter to kill switch and battery.

Gas tanks all done ready to hook up.

Hi Johnny..I fricken loved watching this thing also. used to rev to 8000 easy..would absolutely scream..bloody awesome. Simons coupe was the shit back in the day. really miss that cool hot rod class at the drags.

All ready to go..made up a couple of gaskets also

Just got to weld the tube in and fill up the two holes

Back into it today. next job is the fuel tank spill pan or fry pan. budget alloy pan from southern hospitality should do the trick.

Thanks mark. yeah I really liked the drag cars from the late seventies early eighties especially the early super stock and pro stock classes Now I need to think of a paint job to suit.

That’s our old viva wagon we raced for two seasons. my mate dave who painted it posted some good photos of it on NZ Drag racing for me. seriously thinking of painting the new one similar to it.
