  1. Have any of you guys done the cube challenge?

Mig/tig/stick weld up a bunch of pannels to make a cube.

Was thinking of doing it to get too where I need to be to do more repairs on my escort.

It gets pretty boring laying weld after weld on a flat piece of steel.

Any other ideas to make welding practice not so tedious and boring ?

  3. Where abouts are  you @johnnyfive ?

How much are you after for the frame

    And the brake setup?

That box section around the foot pegs is where mine has rusted out .

Also check your swing arms underneath that towing hitch as mine has rusted through behind it.

  4. Hey man , nice escort !

There is a guy on youtube that has done the front wing/guard repair and has done it stage by stage so you can see how it is done.

Check it out , makes it look pretty simple using cardboard cutouts as templates.  I started doing my guard following his directions and so far so good.

  5. Tonight I had a look into the carb over fueling as I had to drill out the slow jet as it was blocked solid. I ended up drilling it out but I think its fucked now as its pouring fuel out the back of the carb. So I disassembled the card , ready for when I buy a carb kit for her.

I thought I'd look into the wheel bearing play on the left hand rear wheel.

Took the castle nut off, which was loose, had a quick look at the splines of the hub. They looked ok, so I tried to crank up the castle nut to no avail. The split pin wouldnt fit through the hole as it's not wound on enough.

I removed the hub again and had a look at the wheel bearings and it seemed they wernt pressed into the axle tube enough. So I punched out the bearings and cleaned it all up , what a mess !

Anyways reassembly another night as I'm dangerously close to too many beersies for this kind of mechanical work.

    Cheers

  6. Hello friends , so I decided to get my 84 honda atc 200 a big sister , although she is a bit sick at the moment.

I brought the 200 and got it going well but decided I needed another trike in my life.

Sooo I brought the 250es from a guy up by Horopito car museum.  Got it for a steal but boy it's a big job.

frame rusted by foot pegs, motor not running , massive oil leak from left hand side cover . I have fixed the side cover gasket and also had the motor running now.

I put the 250 up on stands tonight so I could make this build thread.  So far I've brought a second hand CDI for it , brought another rear rack and fixed the wiring and repaired the wiring behind the kill switch. The previous owner couldn't get it running.

I plan to get it purring , then strip it and repair the frame.

    cheers. Sorry bout the novel.

top bike is the 200es that hoons.

  7. Did a little bit of work to the old girl today. I needed to remove the metal that sits around the head light at the top of the wing.

Drilled out all the spot welds on the wing to free up the curved inner pannel so I can make a new one. Dave's garage on YouTube shows you step by step how to make the pannel parts.

Not much of a update but worked out well , amazing what you can do with the proper tools.
