  1. Soo today saw a crack in the will and thought hello , bog. I got itchy fingers and got out NY angle grinder and flapper disc.opened up a can of worms I have...
  2. Here she is off , had a few cold ones while chipping away in this heat.
  3. I also decided too remove the right front wheel and check out the brake caliper , as I had problems when it was running with seized calipers and it's been sitting for awhile soooo.
  4. The top hinge pin was easy , the bottom hinge pin was a total different story . I even soaked her over a couple of days , tonight I ended up getting a bit rough and ended up butchering it .oh well another thing to fix.
  5. Hey guys , tonight I decided I'd find out where the play in the drivers door hinges is coming from.
  6. Is there a breather for the tank that could be blocked or the fuel return blocked. This would certainty cause problems like the ones describes. Just thinking outside the square.

  8. I plan to take the head to machine shop , has anyone done their own porting and polishing and had good results ?
  9. Hey me again , has anyone had to deal with cracks in the head between the water jackets. I shall take photos if required.

  12. I've tried the shimming out of the mounts with spacers so will have to look into new mounts or Corrina ones. Its going to be awhile till I can put the motor back in , but I'm looking into it now so I don't have to fluff around with it when I'm ready.

  14. Its a 681f block , I'm pretty sure the sump cleared and wasn't knocking lol. Apparently cortina engine mounts can be fitted. I'm about to go on palmside and see what there mounts look like for comparison. Thanks for all the replies , I shall be back for more help thru out my build.
  15. Engine mounts are all good , had a decent look at them tonight. Nah its definitely a 1600 ford escort engine , I think the sump may be a Cortina sump or something. I've been doing some research since I put this post up and apparently their is a difference with sumps and mounts but need some solid evidence .lol
  16. hey , so I've decide to start working on my 77 ford escort panel van after her sitting in my shed for the last 5+ years. tonight I stripped the sump off and also pulled off the clutch setup and flywheel. i don't know where the motivation has come from .. (my wife doesn't know either) I'm not sure what this sump is off ,.if its 13 or 16. Here's some pictures so far.
  17. Hey , I'm currently working on my 77 ford escort pannel van. It has a 1600 block . the sump is sitting on the steering rack. What is the difference between a 1300 sump and 1600. Also whats difference between 13 and 16 engine mounts. Thanks .
