Might not be too hard to make from sheet metal? YouTube channel Notevn is worth a look for fab also worth a gander at his restoring 2 L10A cosmos, mx5 chassis,
Or make some cardboard flares to mock up and see how you like them?
His work is insane. Mine , not so much.
would be awesome if I could “borrow” a set for mock up to see how they look.
cardboard would be a pain trying to get the right shape unless I use an existing flare to use as a template

Perfect info, btw just sent you a pm

4 link bushings.
have found a nice kit close to home but uses heim joints.
another one is an extra $200 and probably 3 weeks shipping, but uses poly bushes.
are the heim joints a terrible idea to use on a road car?
I’ve only used them in Stockcar’s, theyr naturally noisey so couldn’t really tell.

I used to use Jesco hydraulics on bond st, from
memory. They did all of the ps lines on my Stockcar and they did all our on farm repairs

Agreed, even I wouldn’t run those struts as they are.
so much nicer off the black rims too. Not a fan of 18s, but she sure looks sweet now, luckily it’s the right size Mazda to pull off a bigger rim

@cletus would you be happy with these components for certification providing the welds on the brackets-chassis wasn’t cactus?
bags that are on the way are rated 2600lb each as well

So tiny compared to modern junk packed full of safety nonsense

So mean, bin the black wheels and it’ll be perfect

So the air ride stuff is coming from Chassis Tech, they messaged today saying they are out of the 7 switch controllers, so have upgraded the kit to a wireless controller.
looking into options for a pre made 4 link kit, will go triangulated.
my brain is telling me to get it sitting at preferred ride height, then set the main bars level, and the upper bars parallel, but again I may sub it out haha.

Reminds me of my 12a Bridgey van from 04.
drop it onto a hoist as a 1800 shitbox, drove out the same day pulsing it’s tits off.
got it certed 2 weeks later, then a week after that we loaded our life into it and moved to chch from Auckland.
even got thumbs up from Rod Millen who was towing his RX7 down to Otago rally.
he thought someone was stealing his car when he heard it fire up on the ferry
after being in chch a few months I sold it for $5.5k wof, regd etc… much regerts

You mean the bags themselves?
Any of it really. Considering bagging the ute but need to gather intel first.
have found kits overseas that are half the cost of Nz sourced kits

In regards to air ride systems. Do the components need to be tagged/stamped/labelled at all?

Theyr very tall engines

Do you know anything about 6bd1's?
I have a 4BE1 to plop into my chev but a 6BD1 might fit in the same place. A turbo one at that. They look to be the same bellhousings but am not 100% sure.6bd1s are indestructible. But slow.
we had them in buses. Torquey and smooth. Turbo may change its slowness.

Decided to stop being a pussy and melt some shit together.
I lay the rx3 cut over the ute guard.
screwed them together where it needs to be then cut it out, started spot welding bits.
im gutted the front lower section was mashed on the rx3 guard cos the other side fits mint to the ute guard. This one will take some patience.

Yup that’s it.
they hold up fine in rally cars even after cartwheeling down a bank.
the weld on tabs are good, allows you to move the seat inline with the steering wheel if it’s on the piss from the factory

You buy a kit from palmside for them
-
That’s how rallycars have their seat mounts usually.
no cert required when running authority card.
but street cars would require cert for them.
both ends would require a plate welded to the mounting point.
have read the requirements in the msnz manual somewhere.im considering doing this set up in the wrx and do away with the NZKW mounts
