It'd be like a really extreme hermholtz resonance effect.
I don't think you're using that term right. But I can see what you're getting at.

Maybe slightly more accurate https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kadenacy_effect

An old barry told me about this. Apparently it's reasonably accurate. I've used it a couple times for dreams of belt driven fun but never gone through due to being poor. Though I feel a supercharged trials car may be in my future with that amr500 price.

Ok there will be some hiding somewhere but someone has spent lots of money getting rust cut out. If someone sells you a "Rust Free" Toyota it means you're not paying extra for the rust. Same goes for Datsuns

Sold. Whats the next one?

What you need is a Toyota Crown.
The owner of this was looking to sell to spend monies on supras. It's rust free too which is a massive bonus.

When I did the crown the cert guy said if forced induction is involved driveshaft hoops are required. I've also learn't from experience that the universal kits from BNT are not a good fit in small Jap trans tunnels.

EJ blocked @datto_610 in. How'd you go getting out Greg? on another note the red stingray wasn't with us but I imagine an older gentleman by the name of barry owns it as evident by the extra cushion on the drivers seat.

I've got a suspicion I've got some literature about those engines somewhere... but not sure exactly where.

Went to supercheap, cost $11 (on sale apparently). EGR issue. Probably valve is gummed up because nana car. No issue then.

Anyone down CHCH way have an OBD2 scanner? Need to check a Mazda Demio for check engine light and reset it.

Things are happening next month in the bustling metropolis of Ashvagas here's a brochure

Maybe tag people to come to Hanmer then after that Nats tagging begins.

I do recall looking in the filler cap when you first picked it up and saying "eww that looks a little gummed up in there"

There was a mint homologation GT4 Celica running around Ashburton when I first moved down. Must have been sold as I've not seen it for a good 8 months.

Are Suzuki A100 mark 3s worth anything? Spied a pretty good nick frame and bits for one at the Barry parts shed. Thought it might be something to buy, fix, ride, and flog.

I've seen dodgy warrants from vtnz and when I questioned the guy he told me his dodgy mate gave him a warrant and then he went to vtnz to get a reprint the next day so the sticker has a vtnz stamp on it, then offered the car for sale.
Is this even possible?
Yeah its about $10 for a replacement sticker. got one for the bike because I lost the original. had duplicate written on it though.

A note about organisation. An event I regularly attend is the VCC's Irishman creek rally. It is organised by the winner and runner up of the previous year. The winner is whoever the organizers say it is. In the last few years a committee has been formed to help the winner/runner up with organisation due to attendance being over 150 cars. Food for thought, Maybe pass the baton at prize giving on a pair of poor unsuspecting saps to organize Nats in their area.

Pulled the one out of the Crown Coupe. It was never stuck in just sitting there with a cushion stopping it flying off the parcel tray. A hard application of the brakes usually resulted in the cushion and light flying at you though.

The VIRM states the lamp must emit a steady light and function appropriately for the lamp and vehicle. Doesn't say shit about engine running but you might run into issues with the light dimming when the engine is at idle.

Firstly "Vintage Cars" in this country are vehicles built pre 1932 according to the Vintage Car Club. Going off their conventions 1959 is considered Post War. I wouldn't add the title "Classic" either due to ambiguity and it causes a lot of arguments. Best just go off this list: http://vcc.org.nz/club-eligible-vehicles/
Anyway with that out of the way. As stated previously those fuel additives are a waste of time and money. Fuels now days have other nasty things in them in place of lead for upper cylinder protection. My parents 1929 Plymouth has been run on regular 91 for years and has only burnt one valve and that was more because of my driving and valve clearance than anything. There was an article published in the late 90s which I cant find at the moment but the general gist was the reporters went round several A grade mechanics and fleet managers in America asking what the change from leaded to unleaded fuel had done as far as maintenance requirements. The only major change was they weren't changing spark plugs as much. None of the predicted valve problems arose. one of my workmates was working for Toyota at the time and he said when the change to unleaded fuel happened a service bulletin was distributed saying to double the spark plug change interval of a lot of models. The quality of our fuels and oils today are much better than in the 50s. Also don't fall for the barry sharns about adding 2 stroke oil or diesel to your fuel. Again waste of time. The only vehicles I've come across that need oil added to their fuel (Aside from 2 smoke cars) are the likes of RR Silver Ghosts with exposed valve gear and as a result have poor lubrication to the valve stems.
Hope this helps and you have many miles of happy motoring.
Bazza Jr out.
What car have you bought? Pics?

Now that you mention it. Yeah grill and body line are wrong for the fait. There's quite a few Fiat and Themes vans there. I think the Fiat is to the right of the Cedric in the background.
