The scooter market has totally dropped out BTW
Last couple years a bike would be gone in a week, maybe 2
Now it's more like 6 weeks with only 1 person getting in touch, and then it's a good bike selling for shit bike prices
Makes more sense to get something electric and not pay rego, ride on footpaths, don't need a licence etc now days I'd say
Looks like there's still interest in "enthusiast" machines, as there probably always will be, but the days of the shit bike are gone sadly
Just like my great grandfather as a blacksmith when cars came in, my grandfather as a watch maker when the quartz movement came in, I too have been rolled over by the n3ver ending advance of time
Is that just location?
Here in Chch there seems to be a very strong small bike community and it seems most crap projects listed are snapped up quite quickly.

Of course you can sweetie. I've got a few spare cars that are all legal for then. And will no doubt have more by then.
Whose got the Beetle? I'd rock that over the Sierra....

Easter this weekend, an evening next week might suit better?

Isnt it something stupid like gloss coat, decals (better base for them to snuggle down on), then matt varnish, weathering then another dose of matt?
All sounds a bit convoluted.....

The screen I wanna do has got a beauty of a scratch in it, unfortunately. So do you basically just sand out the scratches, and then just go finer and finer in sand paper until you can polish it clear again with plastic polish?
I have a lot of paint to remove, so was hoping there was some sort of magic paint stripper that didn't melt plastics, haha.
A brief google suggests if its OEM ABS stuff, youre screwed. If its dodgy backstreet AliExpress Fibreglass, you might have a few more options.

Ive got some fairings to attack as well so I'm keen on an answer....I dont really want to attack everything with #800 sandpaper.
Plastic modellers use things like brake fluid to strip shells, but Im picking th plastic is different.....but something of that ilk would be handy?

Apologies for being slightly off on a tangent, but man, does this bring back childhood memories:

So is there actually a growing market for damaged leafs (leaves?) to act as donors? Could we see them being shipped in from overseas?
My own personal tastes would mean range wouldnt really be an issue, I cant imagine any retro classic given the EV treatment would go further than the city limitsd. In most cases would just be for short trips or fun summers day outings.
As it is 95% of our trips these days are for less than 20minutes travel at a time. At least once a month we'll go to Timaru for the weekend but thats an outlier.
