Cariam shows that as having a KF-G1 engine number - must be the special variable cam timing model - does look good though they must be growing on me
These cars must have some of the young fellas that have never seen or heard one before go what the fuck is that ?

There is a plane like that at founders park museum Nelson - may be some pics on their website and a local Barry to go planespot for you to compare props

Inlet manifold is too easy to swap only real way to tell is piston tops and head ports and cams
-
-
Looks more like someone has swapped a cam
Block should be stamped KF it’s not easy to see pretty much under exhaust rear bank of motor about in front of drivers feet
valves are the same right thru as are heads except for square inlet port klze 2.5s
Info on kf is sketchy I have 2 x jdm motors with no egr but they have k8 101 cams - will check when I’m home
lantis type r should be super special but never seen any spec on cam fitted but the extra grunt must be from Comp ratio or cams
Some info on club 323 forum and 626.net will point you at some
Start a thread ? Show us more of this fine machine ?

Don't suppose you'd have a good radiator for a lantis @Transom? Tracked down the water leak to a big split in right side tank.

No spare clutch plates i think but will look they are so cheap new by the time you get that deep into makes sense to do new / updated exedy - same size pattern as one of the Mx5s / 323s - think I rockautoed a clutch set for 160$ landed
Also look at a k8 flywheel from a eunos/mx3 1.8 v6 they are lighter / same size

Yeah I'd love to have found one with a big wing but they're bloody hard to come by now! Used to see em everywhere.
Yeah I've sort of thought that too, especially having a wee bit of racing history with JTCC and whatnot. It's a neat wee car.
I have a heap of KF parts some of it is no use to me like dizzys leads ignition modules starters throttle bodies stuff like that cheap / freight cost or something also a spare long motor that was a runner if you need any random parts
Kfze is same/more horses than a klde anyway and all the revs
and I scored @yoeddynz s hoard of klze bits I have made progress I swear but still have not sorted thru all the Barry labelled and wrapped boxes of stuff yet

So here is a pic of bonnet swap later “high” series bonnet and Fairmont grill compared to the silver “low” bonnet and pov spec grill
have now swapped front guards bumper and both doors to gain erectric windows - what a pain - no elec window loom in the ute even though it has electric mirrors - ran fused power to window switches and used part of the door looms from each and swapped lock barrel to match ignition - some very fiddley tedious arm up inside door and or between door and body or arm up under dash hours ...
paint is fucked on my blue Fairmont bits but the panels are tidier so I can see some Matthew Black blending it all in together - also found some horrendous rust holes in front bodywork of the sedan like size 12 boot size holes under the guards near the strut towers - very scary so it’s getting parted out for spares and stripped slowly
more pics when it’s daylight and not raining

Open invite if you need anything in Westport - I’m on call Saturday so will be at home or I would beg for a passenger seat on adventures
The red wings motor caravan assoc are at Reefton racecourse so there should be lots of GILF action in the Reefton pubs for you
Motorbike racing greymouth Sunday so heaps of bikes on the road in wannabe racer mode - means heaps of cops on the coast for the weekend - I got random tested last night

Always a bad day when you get stuck behind him
Pulled over dangerously to let me past just before that- He is an insane Barry beekeeper who is not allowed to do bee stuff anymore cos the government conspired against him ...
but sooner or later that sweet ute will be sold to someone who cares about it before it rusts away - piece of Toyota history right there

Some diesel trucks run the diesel thru chambers in the ecu before it goes to the injectors to keep the ecu cool ... and it’s bolted to the side of the block - not without a problems sometimes but it’s a thing

So made it home 260km used 26 litres fuel - 90% open road cruising
did try the Jandal out and seems like someone may have snuck an lsd in there as it peels both happily / shit supercats help - got very sideways on a bumpy slick corner when I buried the boot
and saw an indicated 150kmh on a brief detour thru Mexico before I got scared
rides nice for a leaf spring 20+ year old ute with nothing on the back not much worse than the sedan with coils
brakes are known to be shit on series 1 au so I think I will retire the Fairmont stop fixing the rust under it and put front Lcas sway bar uprights and the bigger brakes onto the ute then it will fit any brake setup from au2 right thru bf
Also going to swap the bonnet grill and guards and front doors to gain the high bonnet less ugly grill and power windows

Is the tray big enough to fit a full sheet on? That's my current thinking for ute criteria, then timber racks but they can be added a bit more easily than a bigger tray
Deck is 2250 inside measure so remove tailgate and stack away
-
I’m thinking 1.8 metres long but this has a bar behind the cab so sheets can go up

Plenty of old primeras around here - they are the crackheads car of choice - silver Primera or silver diamanté = 95% of the time crackhead spec missing bumpers and teeth
Saw my old familia is back on the road with a new gearbox prob should have kept it as was low kms but not special or rare enough to be worth anything in the future

No need to rescue the whole thing - surely all the super turbo parts would fit in a shoebox for easy postage ?
