Little truck handbrake disc system - Nissan condor uses disc handbrake and the caliper is just basicly 2 long bars of steel with brake pad holders - pivot at one end and handbrake cable squeezes the two onto the disc - spring retracts - about as simple as it gets

Is the cigweld 135 mig the same they sell at supercheap ? If so i had one it’s ok but upgraded to a newer inverter style mig and the difference is very noticeable also the cigweld 135 is not a replaceable binzel style hose / hand piece

Ha scuttle shake is such a convertible thing … prob why they put the strut brace on
tightening up the door fit does a lot to fix it - if it has rubber blocks in the door striker areas then making some delrin blocks like Mx5s will help

yeah, I mucked up when I spent money on my brakes. I should have just ditched the Series 1 setup and bought an AU2 setup. But by the time I realised that I had already bought new series 1 rotors and secondhand calipers.
Need front hubs sway bar and some mods to the sway bar mounts - caliper s are in front on one and behind on au2 - also some say master cylinder some say nah - there is an odd crossover some late 1999 au1 have bigger master and later brakes
was gonna do the swap on ute if I kept the au2 parts car

I would buy an au cap or beanie but not a bucket hat
Yup new and better brake pads usually improve things
1999 series one au has quite small brakes front and weird caliper mounting
2000 on au2 will fit any caliper adapter and rotor combo from the au2 - ba-bf range

Yeah off to the aliex thread with that - prob better saving the $ and stumbling across some old Barry’s minter myford on an estate sale

Topmaq seems to specialise in shit quality and shit customer service - would buy a $10 tool from them but can prob get that same lathe from aliex for 1/2 that including shipping

@kwsI have been looking at similar - the machinery house version seems a bit bigger / better for similar price ?

Beautiful machines probably the finest ever Ford out of England
my misspent teens were spent in mk3 s the 6s always lost 2nd gear and then eventually threw # 5 rod out of bed
a nice mk3 lowered a little and debumpered and with the front and rear seams removed is a very slippery and road hugging aerodynamic shape will be awesome with 289

Yup it’s odd but I learned some good stuff - wish I had been riding lots coming up to the test but I pretty much missed summer and Saturday was an hour + ride to the course then ride most of the day and then hour+ home - felt like I had been riding a horse and had the evil leg cramps after I had been on the couch for a while
Keen to do silver course in spring maybe even twice then practice for full in 2023

Test was a quick bike and paperwork check then here’s a radio and we are off for an hour ride - 1/2 urban lots of right turns and stop signs and a roundabout or 5 and a couple of feet up u-turns on narrow streets
1/2 open road 70-80-100 km zones and merging / lane position / cornering position is all about sight lines not hot apex carving lol
full head nod mirror checks constantly and before braking or indicating or even moving within your own lane
full head turn checks before moving off or changing lane and at each hazard / side street / gas station/ kfc / whatever
and at every intersection turn ( that’s the one I found hardest ) - full look to the footpath on the side you are turning to
I missed staying in the merge lane at one right turn drifted a little into straight thru lane and did not get a full 1 second count foot down at a stop sign
pretty intense - highly recommend doing the bronze course as they explain exactly what they expect for the restricted test - I prob woulda failed if I didn’t do it

Oh I've booked bronze for Wednesday
Need to get restricted by end of May as it runs out
Email for bronze course said no modified bikes if on restricted
Oh well it came like that officer
Learners licences got a 2 year extension a while ago part of their “we are going to kick you all off learners so here’s 2 years to get your act together “
I had to get a paper replacement licence on Friday cos mine had the old expiry date
Lams bike is no modifications
Mine is slightly modified - minus 25kg of catalyst exhaust restriction and minus big chonky indicators and + the tune chip that you can’t see - but it’s such an odd bike no one knows what it’s supposed to look like

Just did my cbta restricted test in sunny greymouth and passed - did the $ 20 bronze course on Saturday and that was a big help
yay to losing the loser plate
GPS average speed for the day 47 top speed on the way home 138…

Do these have the same 5 speed as the terrano where the back of the box is prone to failing ?
-
Ok totally confused - it can move - but still needs to be bolted down ? I’m still seeing a half height hoist for more than the price of a full height one ? - and some bolts poking out of the floor when you move it ?
-
Can attach the limit switch wherever suits
What’s average garage height 2.5m ?
-
If you cut the slab then full 2 post hoist is only $2600 anyway
