  1. Had a lot of people not wanna come last year because of that; trying it the other way around this year. If it’s less popular we can always do it different next year. Bring bikes regardless that earlier weekend @Raizer.
  2. Moped NZ M.C 3rd Annual Mount Maunganui Small Bike Ride Meet 9am, Classic Flyers, Mt Maunganui close to Bunnings. Please park trailers off site. Ride leaves 10am. 250cc limit. All 50cc bikes/scooters/mopeds welcome. No new sports bikes or cruisers. The older and weirder the better. This is a ride for those who usually don’t get any events scheduled for their machines. Riding around 50km over 2-4 hours with a fuel stop and main beach Mt Maunganui fly by. Finishing at Rising Tide; eat their famous dumplings and drink a nice brew with the crew after the ride! Get out and ride! It’s what summers all about.
  3. If anyone has any half decent footage they wanna share; flick it to @BLIZZO who’s gonna combine his insane drone shots with mine and other people’s foootage of the weekend.
  4. I had some fun times riding with/near you on the Saturday. You were pinning it!
  5. @MaxPower and @Thphantum deserve gold medals and free beers for life. At the first stop after Motu we were down on luck with 3 pies in the warmer at the local store; Mark had the Weber going in minutes. Roadside snags after a 2+ hour treacherous gravel fang was insane. @Tumeke was a top knotch legend; stopping for over 5 people on the Motu with his tool filled panniers; including me when my rear sprocket bolts got sick of existing. @MaxPower and his dedication with the land cruiser and that trailer that seemed determined to die was admirable; from snapped leaf spring to snapped draw bar; the thing made it all the way against all odds. @johnnyfive is an incredible dude; his organisation is top knotch. Letting us leave 10+ vehicles at your house over the weekend and providing cooked breakfast at the start along with managing 40 enthusiastic small bike foamers. @HighLUX deserves top cunt award again for the securing batch usage; this trip wouldn’t be what it is without this stop. The opportunity to sharn and socialise with OS’ers from around the country was so much better with us all being able to congregate in one place without being told off for noisey bikes. I think we all had a few brow wiping moments; but it was a generally safe affair and easily the best on road small bike event in the country. As the newest FOAMER said today; I’m a different man than I was 3 days ago. Can’t wait for next year. My bike is so chooched. Maybe something less than 50 years old is on the cards for next year. Also; here’s @64valiant.
  6. Weow. We’re in for it today. Just woke up and it’s hairy outside. ITS RAINING SIDEWAYS.
  7. 3 car loads from Tauranga on route and only about 30-40 minutes away.
  8. Just had a roll with the QCR boys, and @64valiant and the BMW with a roll cage. Was good fun. Went and caught up with @HighLUX and now those dudes are heading out to WHK. Will be good times. I already rode through a giant cow shit.
  9. Don't worry about the weather @MichaelJFox; it's gonna happen regardless. Just be prepared. It's overcast then sunny then overcast then sunny in TGA.
  10. Hahahahaha fuck I am so glad someone else has punishing rear suspension. Or no suspension. I have 2 shocks, but they're for kids atv's and meant to be a single shock. Using 2 of them together provides absolutely 0 bounce. I'm excited. Took my bump stops out of the front to make up for it. My fizz levels are through the roof.
  11. That’s epic. Get these if you haven’t got any. Saves them ever coming loose. https://www.ebay.com/itm/60-Pin-Keepers-Pin-Badge-Locks-Locking-Pin-Backs-for-Enamel-Lapel-Hat-Pins/222656082213?hash=item33d7563125:g:ULMAAOSwrcBba7s9
  12. +1 for tubes. Super common fix for tubeless tyres with punctures is to just jam a tube in there. Won't be an issue as long as there is nothing sharp on the inside of the tyre. Puncture repair kit + tubes would be awesome ass covering.
  13. Just over inflate the wheels and boost over the water mate. Aqua Chaly.
  14. Thats negative speak mate. Buy some garbage bags.
  15. Fair call re: not wanting to ride a scooter that long. Gotta admit there was moments after 7 hours of riding with a few hours left in the bag that I wished my Chaly was a bit bigger last year. SO; I'm excited as fuck for my insanely good looking but rather hard seat and not really any bigger bike to sort those issues. Chyeah. Bwoi. Here's a picture of my actual face after thinking about riding with 30+ other dewds in a few days.
  16. Will aim to be doing a half day Thursday. Have a good route for you punishers to see the highlights of this northern delight.
