Or an alternative to the the 408 is AP-4110 epoxy primer. The 408 is a Barrier made product out of europe whereas the AP-4110 is a PPG lower end product. "Lower end" doesn't mean shit product tho'.

  3. Did a bit of research on the 'Gadabout' and it turns out to be a semi rare 'NZ only' one. Now these things were sold worldwide in large numbers BUT NZ was the only country to have front and rear shocks, everywhere else got a rigid frame.
  4. Forgot this 110cc thing was at the back of one of the sheds. So will be using this as motive power. Has one of those 'clutchless' 4 speed gearboxes, think i'll convert it to hand shifted for something different.
  5. So i've given up on cars (hard to do when over the last 33 years i've owned 207 lol) and decided to get back into doing up bikes. Don't care what bikes, be it pushie, moped or full size. Have been looking for a "project" for a couple of weeks with some interesting finds (which still may end up in my shed much to swmbo's disgust haha) So, this morning i check FB and on one of the local free pages this thing popped up, and even better it was only ten k's away. Haven't decided on final plans but it will be re-powered with something between 150cc & 200cc.
  6. Yep, one of the avenues i've explored, but good ones are in the same league as good floors.
  7. Chances of finding a good floor for one of these is non existent. Ya can put pretty much anything in there as a floor because cab mounts are welded to sills and not floors. I've seen ONE new floor panel for sale in the last 6 months, it was on flea bay in oz and the guy wanted above $300,pfffft...................
  8. Not sorted yet................need to find either someone who's not scared of fixing a "little" bit of rust OR some welding skills.
  9. Pictars and updates will (occasionally be) here. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/50618-bellicoses-86-hilux-of-thin-air/ But this is where y'all can come to point and laugh.
  10. Discussion thread for pointing & laughing out loud. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/50619-bellicoses-86-hilux-of-thin-air/ Got this a few years ago in a deal. Drove it for a while until i got sick of getting wet feet due to water running onto them from up under the dash. So decided to investigate, and yes......................it got outa hand....pfffft...... As traded...... Had the wrong model deck, so bought a good rust free 4X4 one.......or maybe it's a new spa pool............ Nah, it's a deck. Also bought some very good rust free rear doors. Stripped and primed them for safe storage. Floor issues. Why my feet were getting a little wet. (up under dash) And the other side of those interior shots. Top of centre pillars (double cab) Cab was removed from chassis and stripped bare, turned on it's side to stare in wonder at the skill it took to do this.....pffffft..... And the "worst" B pillar rust after all the 'Metaltech' and bog was removed. How it sits now, although the cab mount plates have been welded back into sills.
  11. If ya need any help or advice mate let me know. Have had 102 HQ's in last 26 years. Yes, that IS a few.....................BUT...........................in my defense not all were complete and/or running haha.
