  1. Got heaps of room with the snubber (unloaded mind you) - will see how it goes... if it's too close I'll just take it off! Pinion angle seems to be good as well and no vibs coming through. If i need to adjust the diff angle I'll probably just machine the top of the blocks. I'll get a carload and fill the boot and see how it all pans out fully laden!
  2. It's settled down a bit more after a drive.
  3. Needs me more low... Before... New adjustable spring hangers... Old hangers... Fitted... Lowery goodness... Might wind the front down a bit more.
  4. THUNDER SUNDAY CANCELLATION It is with regret that Thunder Sunday has been cancelled due to issues around alcohol and licensing the event. The Council, by all accounts has made it too difficult to get this sorted and the cost has proven prohibitive. We have been advised that it is unlikely that the Council will allow racing to occur again next year or in the future. This is a regrettable decision as far as the club is concerned as Thunder Sunday has been an important date in our race calendar and enjoyable for all those who've participated in the meets. https://www.facebook.com/Southern-Dragways-249314205143849
  5. Yeah something a bit different, wasn't sure how they were going to look but got inspiration/motivation after seeing Grunters rims.
  6. Trip to Twizel for the weekend! Looks much better with a full tank of gas and a few peeps in the back!
  7. Gave up on the eagers, even though I said I wouldn't! So got me some sweet 205 whitewalls. Got wheels sandblasted and painted silver.
  8. Hey Grunta, hanging out to see pics of these wide rims man!
  9. Put wheels back on and did some skids...
  10. Another prob with the VG wheels is they've got the 4 Lug centres which take the larger hub cap, so you won't be able to run your VC caps.
  11. Can't remember exactly but I think they were about $450. Then another $100 for another set of skinny's. Then 2x 24 packs to get them cut out and welded. 4 cans of warehouse "appliance white" spray paint.
  12. I live in Gore man, Eagers or nothing lol - get enough shit rocking the pizza cutters hahaha.
  13. Well finally got my wheels made up just before Christmas... Tyres fitted and balanced - went and did some domes, seems OK slight rubbing round corners but she'll be right! Hooked up van... drove 2 blocks down the road and had to turn round as both tyres were rubbing flat out. Gay. 1 white walled Eager So the consensus is, leafs too soft to tow van - put over rider spring back in and get them reset so I can keep it low & get rid of blocks. New bushes to minimise sideways movement. Re-weld rear wheels with a bit more backspace.
  14. Here's a pic of a mates VC rocking eagers... Though I think for a start I'll just roll with Matt Black rims with chrome nuts...
  15. Also installed a fire in the garage... mmm toasty
  16. I thought it was about time I got the ball rolling on getting my wide rims made up. Knowing that there is bugger all room in the back of VC's I thought I'd better have a measure up to make sure I get the right offsets etc. Here's how it sits at the rear currently... Using the bumper jack so I can get my trolley jack under the bloody thing... Sitting on axle stands under the axle... In this pic you can see the inner guard lip, on the other side of this is the stainless trim, so I'm assuming it's buldgy like this to allow for the trim clips. My crude measurements... So on the pass side I get a total width of 265mm between the closest point of the inner guard and the leaf spring, and 264mm on the drivers side. I've purchased these 7" AG rims (I got them through TWL Invercargill, but it turns out they get them through Elite Wheels in Christchurch - so would have been cheaper to go through them directly). I've also got a set of 7" & 8" wide rims with the later stud pattern, so I used these to measure the total width with a tyre on them... Effectively with a 245/50 14 eager on my 7" rims I will have about 7mm clearance each side of the tyre... tight! I think I'll remove the 'trim' lip budge bit to get another 4mm-ish. Either way there's plenty of VC's around here running this combination so I'll make them squeeze under there!
  17. Haha, if I had the monies and the space I prolly would!!
  18. Got my 7" centreless AG rims and another set of skinny's sitting in the garage now. Will measure up backspace/offsets over the weekend and get them welded up!
  19. Yip Cut and Polish, then went over it with a Wax. All by hand. Sore arm in the morning lol! Looks better in pics, the paints got a bit of crazy cracking and the clears a bit thin in places. Will get it up to standard one day! Yeah that's me old wagon... he sold the Cali's and stuck the Tridy's on. He's done a wee bit to it since I had it, bascially tiding up a few bits that I hadn't got round to yet, still makes me a bit regretful.
  20. Few pics from the above show... Ditched the headlight covers after they fell off! Have to re-attach them betterer! Heaps of pics from the show here! http://southernaussiemuscle.co.nz/Event_Pages/150328_Muscle_Mania.html
  21. Finally got around to getting this shitter back together... Polishing... before... After... Decided to paint the visor as well. Did fuck all prep work cause I couldn't be arsed and was already half a 24 down... Then proceeded with a cut and polish. Crap lighting in the garage so will be interesting to see what it looks like in the daylight! Car Show tomorrow... prob should've posted this in the events bit ages ago, but oh well.
  22. Right, so I bought these headlight grills to add more nana accessories... Went to fit them and thought fuck it I've pretty much got the whole front off anyway, I'll black out behind the grill. Annoyed the hell out of me having it body colour behind there so got straight to it! 1st coat down, next one tomorrow when I've got a bit more light.
