  1. A Waikato Legend Truck, Dibble Bros Commer fert spreeder Swamp Buggy! Colin & Eric started in transport & fert spreading in 1953, within about 15 years they were running over 50 trucks from their base in Te Awamutu, the brothers had played with prototypes to try to cover soft ground areas in the Waikato, semi swamp - peat type country. Swamp Buggy ticked the box in this department, another 1 off prototype, it's trick was super size truck tyres, swamp - tractor type 16 of them in drive mode, the truck was 4 x 4, doubles on the steerers, triples on the back and on the trailer which also had a power driven axle, it is said the only thing that stopped it was axle deep mud, this concept may have lead to the Tructor range of fert spreaders.

  2. Thomas Edison with his electric car in 1910.
Equipped with Edison’s state-of-the-art battery, the Bailey Electric managed to make 100 miles on a full charge.
In September 1910 the electric car competed with much bigger petrol-powered cars in a 1,000 mile endurance run.

  3. Would be very interesting. Remembering that EV, ICE, and to a lesser extent steam, were all relatively new technologies at the turn of the twentieth century and the vast majority still used four legged horsepower.
