My ex had a '76 CG125 for a while. It got 115 mpg and could do 70 mph if I lay down flat on the tank. Never had a motorcycle licence, never got caught.

Blenheim bridges, formerly the top ten.
Stayed there once when it was a Top Ten. Was pretty good then.
Still sorely tempted to spend money I don't have and join this circus but resisting strongly.

Many of us probably fit well in that group.

Ha, love it, Express and Rapid Despatch. Probably flat out at 35mph.

Don't offer anything. As Transom suggests he could have done anything with/to it after he left your place. He took a hell of a chance driving it from Taupo to Wellington when he knew it was potentially fucked. My guess is that's what finished it off.

1. No. This situation is a risk we all take when buying old cars.
2. Don't think so. Just say no and resist all efforts to make you change your mind.

Do some of you find that the picture quality leaves a little to be desired on some of the cheaper cameras? My boss had an older one that produced images too fuzzy to read number plates off. The other day he showed me a recording off the one he has now and it's great. I can ask him for the details if anyone is interested.

what about just general charging? I used to have an old charger that would force a charge into any old battery (although they might not hold much of a charge) but on occassion this seemed to breath life into a battery that was otherwise gone. The POS charger I now have is only good for topping up, any dead flat battery it just says fault

Did this last night cos wife left the lights on in her Laser. Four year old battery was flat as a witch's tit. Fancy modern charger didn't want to know, just said fault. Hooked up another even older battery that had a bit of charge in parallel with the flat one and it worked.

I often wondered how those small wheel TKs go.
I had one for a couple of years in the early '90s. Original 214 petrol and four speed. Top speed on the flat 35 mph but didn't like to take it over 30. Fuel consumption averaging 10 mpg. Real stump puller diff gears. Almost never used first gear unless heavily laden. Perfect truck for town deliveries or hay making. Rolling roadblock on the highway.

Is a 1000cc Micra actually slower than an 850 Mini or does it just feel slower cos you're all used to more modern cars?

I know exactly where you took that pic.

And another like for the sculpture thing in the background that looks like it's made from Cuisenaire rods.
edit, @Kimjon's motorbike pic.

But then you have to get them all out again. A chain might make that easier.

The others - don't know guessing axle loads
This would make sense, 1 being front and 2 being rear.

Does it change colour in the presence of a virgin?

Did it also have the weird ADR compliant door handles and Oz spec doors with wind up windows and quarter lights while still retaining the exposed door hinges? Or was that only the later Oz built ones?

Pretty sure it was Morris Mini Minor and Austin Seven or Se7en for the first few years of production.

Anyone had any experience of those big scoots? Are they as good as they're cracked up to be?
