In all honesty what would all of you think its worth? i havent seen any around. I know what i payed for it and what ive spent on it but id like your opinion

Have since taken a break from the car and regained enough motivation to get back into it. With the Kaikoura hop coming up its the perfect time too. Both the Viva and the KE20 will be driven up there in the hope they both make it! Since the last update not a whole lot has been done. The fix for it running badly was very simple and purely the car over fueling to heck because of the carb supplied by the previous owner. I have since put the original carb on it and it runs a treat. Next i will be getting it re-ready for a warrant hopefully this week.

Does anyone have a starter motor for a 1256? Mines fucked
-
Its Nylon line, had a few issues crimping it when i was installing it. Luckily i saved it with the kit i bought without having to spend any more money.

Tings didn't quite go to plan today, everything seemed in order to get it all legal and get a WOF on it. Sadly this had a few issues. First off the car wouldn't start, with a little bit of pressuasion i got it to go. Secondly it had a flat tire, that i was prepared for and had a pump to pump it up. And thirdly it was coughing and spluttering the whole time and in the end died on the side of the road. The started jammed and i had to call it. She was towed home and now i have to figure out where to go from here.

Right, so i haven't been that great at keeping up to date and getting pictures but LARGE UPDATE TIME.
The motor is in, with no issues getting it in except a pin the the rear flywheel being missing it all went to plan.
After purchasing the needed parts we started it for the first time. Running on 95 it started and ran after having to get a small block out of the fuel line. After starting it and realizing that there was no temperature gauge nor indicator i went and purchased a oil pressure gauge and water temp. I have them placed currently like this but i am thinking of moving the oil pressure next to the water temp after i buy a new line for it. Ive had a few small leaks which ive fixed but still have an ongoing fuel leak. Ill have to buy some smaller line. The window was smashed by the previous owner so i replaced that with the help of dad and it is now water tight and able to be locked.
Next on the list is to fix a small amount of rust in the inner guard, fix the bottom front indicator (Replace the wire) and fix the exhaust leaks/rust holes. It should go throught for its first attempt on Wednesday.

So here is my 1972 Vauxhall Viva Estate. Last registered in 2012 and been off the road since. It use to have the stock 1259cc but that has since been removed.
A bit of a special car too, being the first in NZ with plate number 1.
The previous owner has spent a lot of time and effort in getting the new motor built up. Its a Blydenstein 1259cc (1.3L now) and lets just say its not stock anymore.
Heres how the car sat when it was on the road:
Stay tuned in the coming weeks

A small but substantial update to bring this post back from the dead..
After saving for a good long while i was able to quire enough to go down to turners and purchase a 2001 Ford Mondeo. Bidding in an auction was an experience on its own, i was the only one to bid getting it for a mere $630.00. Driving it home that same day (/definaltey not driving it because its de-reg)
It will be paired with a sierra 5 speed box i have from a previous deal.

So over the past however long its been ive had some good progress on repainting it. The panels have been quite bad and i am working to get them perfect.
Before i started the strip down i grabbed dads mags and chucked them on to see what they would look like, with a slight polish it should look good when its done.
So i finally completed the two doors that were giving me the most heartache along with the bonnet and starting on the rear quarter panel.
Both quarter panels were especially bad so im fairly happy with how close it is at the momment.
And finally the other doors are undercoated and dont require alot of work.

Hey all,
Here is my recently purchased KE20 Toyota Corolla. Bought on Trademe from Hamilton and delivered to Christchurch.
Discussion:
Here is all the info as provided on Trademe:
1974 Toyota Corolla KE20 Sedan.
Car is deregistered and has been in storage since ~2001.
The good, everything is there, interior is in good condition, engine runs I have driven to Auckland and back from Hamilton but would be due an overhaul.
The bad, all panels have dents, someone has attempted panel/paint poorly on it.
In Jan 2011 I took it in for VIN inspection, it failed exhaust mount, brakes and damage on LH inner guard.
The brakes and exhaust are trivial.
Upon inspection of the damage it will need LH A pillar section replaced. I have a replacement cut to do so.
Unfortunately I don't have enough space to keep it dry stored so needs to be sold. Here are the main photos displayed on the auction:
Once the car was delivered finally i got to inspect the car fully. Saying that the panel work is bad is a understatement. Although something that is fixable and i can work through to get it back to its former glory.
The interior is as mint as it looks. No rips no Tears all original. The only things that the interior is missing is the inner door pulls (Which im looking for if anyone knows of any). It has the original conversion chart and the original tool kit too.
So i had to take it for a few drives.
Heres the damage that needs to be repaired and the replacement section it came with:

I was quoted 951.00 from Captain Transportation. but i was also quotes 868.02 from Car Distribution Group Limited which is the cheapest so far. just hoping for something a tad cheaper.

It runs and drives, but has minimal breaks and it has no plates hence why i cant go up and drive it back. Hes trying to find a battery so its driveable.

Being honest i bought it for 3 and have spent about a grand on it. so id be happy with $4000 or 3.5ish. And i totally agree. Just trying to cut my loss's. To many projects and to little time
