It worked out awesome. I was a bit rough with it and took a chip out of it. So seeing how I'm having to print it again, I took the opportunity to change some dimensions to thicken up the real fragile parts, and undersize a few tight fitting areas. Hopefully V2.0 is the final ticket to success.

Having a go at designing my own taillight.

Im going to 3D print it, so it fits into the rear hoop. It has a flange that extends 2mm all the way around the hole, so it'll hide any rough edges. Should look "factory" the way it sits in there.

Fuck yeah, best day ever! @Geophy took car of these welds, so much better than I could.

Bike started up and I rode it around the driveway out of excitement. Nothing is spanner tight, just loose nuts and bolts held in place by faith...but fuck yeah...fuck yeah!!

Clutch cable done. This snapped ages ago and I miss riding it, so all sorted.

Hopefully, I will maintain a little momentum with this project. Im quite in love with how its starting to shape up.

Headlight properly centred in the hole. I made aluminum spacers and finally got it sorted. Such a cunt of a thing that fairing...such a cunt! But fuck it it looks sweet.

When it was apart the bike looked so stumpy and just wrong. Im so glad I went through with the fairing idea.

So, the seat on the bike when I got it was supported by the single round tube that slid into the frame. The "bobber seat versions" use this same idea.

The concept I copied replies solely on the shock mounting bolts to support the seat, on the sides of the main frame.

I've merged both concepts together, mostly due to drug induced paranoia of the seat failing, me falling splayed legged onto the rear tyre and castrating myself in the process.

I figure if either seat attachment option is well proven on its own... then like Vultron, with its powers combined, it'll be now be invincible!!

And Im welding on a thin tapered edge, to make it look more like the factory forged brackets. Cosmetic addition, but I think it's worth the effort.

Actually starting to look like a motorcycle again. Things are falling into place.

Something a bit different, scratch built fender out of flat panel steel.

Im trying to learn new things, so hopefully this kind of thing gets better the more I do it. 

Front fender mounting all figured out. I rolled a thick bit of panel steel to hide under the fork brace, then bolted the fender to that. Sits nice and tight to the wheel, with about a 10-15mm gap. Its not a part I want to stand out at all, as I personally hate the way all front fenders look on motorcycles, but needs must for legal requirements.

Just my opinion, but its begging for a number and ideally a boarder like the tank has too, to break up this flat panel.

But your bike is super cool, sexy green paint for the win.

More wiring done. The joys of buying old shit, that has had several owners of varying degrees of giving a fuck previously work on it. To be fair, I'm somewhat in the middle of this spectrum when it comes to wiring ability too.

But I've certainly cleaned it up a lot from where it once was.

Its just a generic one for sale on most sites, ebay, Amazon etc.

I cut it up a bit to get the look I was after. Mounting it was a cunt of a job. Im happy with thr bottom mount, but I'll eventually redo the top two.

It'll probably end up the same colour as the gas tank. To integrate it into the rest of the bike. But yeah, I'm super happy with the placement now, its sitting so tight.

That's factory the way it id. Its a common swap, to turn the tubes around like you suggested, but it does mess up the rake as the axle is offset.

The brake lines are routed a funny way, I'll do these in a more conventional fashion and it needs lowering a touch. Finally fork gaiters and blacking out the top of the fork tubes is on the do to list, like the one above.

Bottom bracket sorted. Needs a tidy up, but its functional now.

Bracket so far...keeps getting more complicated. Its dropped 60mm, moved forwards, has extra wings etc...
