  1. Cheers fellas, yeah I'm stuck with the modgies for now, as they have grown on me slightly, wasn't really worried about the engine as Brian from rotary research taught me everything I know today so engines are for me easy and cheap to build, I guess what made me buy was a mate looked at it and confirmed it was genuine which is what I really wanted as personally I couldn't own anything but a genuine rx. I'm over hornby way so yeah if you see it say hello for sure.
  2. Yeah ok I don't think this is my mates car nor mine, yeah back in the day I brought my rx2 sedan for $1400. It's crazy the prices they demand these days
  3. So I fitted the new clutch master and slave, gave it a good bleed, now I have a mint clutch, one of the threads in the gearbox mount for the clutch needed a helicoil, and now that's fixed and secure as hell. So then we had electrical issues to sort, the lights come on when the battery is connected and one side of headlights was full no indicators, he found within 3 mins, 2 problems and had them all fixed again, just a earth we thought was for the horn was off. Made me look like a right tard, but hay I do engines not electrics. My m8 whom painted the car has stored it at his place for now, he's buffing the paint so it has some insane shine going on, must say thought it was a different car when I saw all the dust wiped off it! I actually joked and asked him if he had repainted it again. So this sat morning we are going for a warrant, and I'll throw some pics up of the finished process for those who want to see it. Bear in mind I havn't put in the new interior yet only the front seats are in, so over next month or so I'll add complete pics inside and out.
  4. Not mine, but looks like a mates old car if I'm correct was based in chch, and had a red rotary research sticker on it, looks very similar. But I'll find out, I know the man to ask. Do you know the person to whom owned it ranter?
  5. So after trying to bleed the clutch it's just fizzing like fanta, so it's a no brainer, new clutch master and slave complete for under a hundy bucks, can't go wrong, so will fit these in next day or two.
  6. Lol know the feeling, cheers bud
  7. Yeah has it's moments, wrong exhaust and bad jetting hasn't helped. Will get better once all that's done.
  8. After fixing the float hight, main jets still far to big as some numpty had drilled them out. Got it running ok, some clutch work needed but we took it for a skid round the road.
  9. Photos don't do her justice, next fine day will try and take her outside and wash all the dust off. A big thanks to Jake for the panel repairs and all the lining up of boot, doors, guards etc, and a huge thanks to Todd for a sik as custom pearl paint job, and assisting in the finishing and detailing over a few jim beams, and reassembly of the beast, also a big thanks to Andy for your work on the brakes. Also to Jason for all your electrical help in getting all the electrical demons sorted. Brian for your help with tuning and general help. So as you can see I haven't done this build alone, and I'm not about to make out I have, you see I've received help from various people. People whom are passionate about old and rare cars and want to see it back on the road and in pristine condition. To those who have helped I'm grateful for your help and support in making this project what it is today, you guys are the real heroes in this build, some very minor detailing left but almost there! A huge thanks to all, Darryl
  10. Today was a day to tidy up some loose ends, we fitted the radiator and cooler, oils lines on, water in radiator and oil in engine, fuel lines on, battery in boot, brakes bleed and adjusted, wheels back on, and finally started up mint, got some float issues in the ida but will sort another day, then she's drivable and off for a wof, window chrome back and front to go in and that's about it.
  11. Not a bad night, light surrounds are back in, bonnet on and lined up, brake booster and clutch cylinder back on, some chrome strips back on. Drivers door handle back on. Back drums sprayed up.
  12. This clip was it's last run prior to panel and paint.
  13. So tonight the head light surrounds are getting a fresh coat of silver and a clear coat, Bonnet hinges are being sprayed also, brake booster and clutch have been painted also and are ready to put back in. I have had the inlet manifold shortened so the ida will no longer hit the underneath of the bonnet, as the previous owner was going to cut a hole in the bonnet, luckily it didn't eventuate. The radiator and oil cooler are being resprayed black to tidy them up. Window chrome and door handles should be also going back on tomorrow night all going well.
  14. Cheers m8, it's a series 4 n/a exhaust as was running a series 4 13b non turbo, so go's 2 into 1 then back into 2, ideally for a pp should be twin exhaust 90" long into a collector then a single out, or a bridgeport same except 125". Will change it once I get car on road but keeps it relatively quiet in the mean time. I'm planning on putting a bridgeport secondary in this at some point down the track and maybe even the old 4 barrel etc.
