  1. Just finished having the same issue with my BZR. Turned out to be the igniter. Get another coil and igniter setup from somewhere and wack that in and see how you go
  2. Alas, after waiting a little while for the Stacked/ML Racing container to come to NZ I have received my KE20 Hi-Deluxe bonnet Little dented but car will be getting fully stripped repainted so not overly concerned. That is what the panel beater will have to worry about. Will be rebuilding the small port over the coming wee while and get some mounts made up for it. Once that's all done it'll be panel and paint time. Now time to find a good condition valance...
  3. Still accumulating a few things. -The matching bonnet is on the way (TE27 sprinter) -The grill support/radiator support panel is on the way. The sprinter version which varies from the Levin and Corolla range. Quite the steal. -TE27 levin boot (just in better condition than the one I have currently). Though I will try find a sprinter badge to match the front guards. The car will also be painted this blue/turquoise colour. It is an original Toyota colour but will have to somehow find the paint code for it. We also have a small port 4A-GE which I have been kitting out with my RWD specific partrs today. I will either be putting it in this KE25 or my KE20, still undecided. Discussion: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/52401-pbaines-1971-toyota-corolla-ke25/
  4. Been extremely reliable over the past month. Gone for 4 extreme hoons down windy roads and sticks like shit to a blanket. Wicked handling on this, like a damn go cart. Definitely the funnest car I have been in. Don't know if I will make it go choo choo anytime soon. I think I might leave it as is and now invest into my KE25. AE86's are a great investment for anyone that's interested. Went up to pork chop hill and got a completely unexpected snap.
  5. Looking boss as man. My starter motor is starting to fail too. Takes about 5 kicks before the solenoid kicks in Also, what style bumper have you got on the front there? Just the type I'm after for mine too.
  6. I have a 4A-GZE CAS and some Coil on Plugs you could use if you were interested? Not sure on how they run with a stock ECU (I don't think they do) but would be next to no hassle to get it going + as above, would like better too.
  7. And here we are. The most finished it will be for a while. Have gotten the diff rebuilt at Geartech, no more ear piercing whines from the rear. Also got some Falken 912's all round (165/65/14 on 7jj front & 185/60/14 8jj rear) Now to drive it and enjoy it, until I decide to stick a blowey thing on there to make it go chu chu Discussion: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/49929-pbaines-1985-ae86-corolla-levin/page-2
  8. Last time I saw the boot lid, I don't even know if I would call it a boot lid anymore. More of a.... boot grater-lid. Rusty as buggery. And I concur, KE26 's are boss.
  9. I don't think there would be anything to persuade them in selling it. They've spent years piecing together parts ready for their KE25 build. Wow awesome, I didn't even know that they imported that particular model here in NZ. Never seen a front end like this till one popped up on one of the Japanese sites I use to get parts. I'll probably keep the entire car the colour the gaurds etc are as I reckon it looks pretty sharp.
  10. It's all complete. Boys at Olds Cool added to the 'restore' list
  11. This is more of a hybrid KE20, KE25 and TE27 car. Mongrel of the sorts. Cheers! Just FYI, that's your old KE25 sitting next to mine in the picture there. It will live again another day
  12. This is going to be a good idea right.... right? //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/52400-pbaines-1971-toyota-corolla-ke25/
  13. In completion of my AE86 project (which has been promoted to my 'Sunday Fun-day car, this is a very high rank) I have bought myself a pre-facelift KE25... for some reason. Have scored myself so far, KE20 1200 HI-Delux front guards, bonnet (not pictured) and grill setup from Japan TE27 Trueno rear tail lights from Japan 4k and K40 locally Going back to a K series engine but will probably upgrade to a K50. Barely any rust overall which is sound. Bit behind the rear tail lights but for a novice like me should be pretty easy as it's all flat in that area. Pretty keen to get this panel and primed myself (learn along the way), take it to somewhere in a booth to get exterior done properly. I predict that this will be a 2+ year long project, but looking forward to it none the less! Big thanks to Olds Cool Autos for supplying 90% of everything, including the shell.\ Discussion thread here: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/52401-pbaines-1971-toyota-corolla-ke25/
  14. Good drive there, but the wet roads were proof I need new tyres on the rear. Few unintentional sidewayyyyz
  15. So I entered this in the 4&Rotary Jamboree here at Manfield, didn't come away with any awards but did end up the track for good 20-30 minutes doing a so called 'cruise' If cruise means fanging it as much as you can, then that's exactly what we were all doing. Only letting about 30 cars on the track at a time so was well spread out. Didn't stop the quicker cars smoking me though! I also mad dashed to paint the 14x7j Hayashi street's that I had on the front, as per the above images where they had been sand blasted by previous owner so were in need of a quick paint and sand. Chuffed with the result of a 1/2 pie job Will get a go pro and do a good video whenever the next time will be Mingle me //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/49929-pbaines-1985-ae86-corolla-levin/page-2
  16. I also fiddled with this photo a bit too, primo
  17. And here we are. Freshly legal! Took a few snaps after giving it a good cane around. I also put my Street CR rims back on the rear as well, cannot stand the 225/60's that were on there previously. Will be going to a Toyo T1R. Haven't finalised my decision for choice of profile yet. Height needs to go up a fraction, little bit of guard rub with the 195/60's but will probably going down to a 175/60 which will resolve it all, and also remove my tire rub at full lock which the cert man and VINZ man both missed...... After going through page 1 and seeing the original interior I got with the car and all of that heinous carbon dipped rubbish I am very happy with how it is looking now! Will be going to the 4&Rotary Jamboree next weekend as well if anyone else is going down. (really sunny when i took this so had to fiddle with the image) I got a whole bunch of switches sent over from Yahoo auctions, 3 aren't wired up though. Might get some blanking plates when I can be bothered. New front air con trim is much nicer
