  1. loving the car, awesome color! i also have a 1980 Galant-Sigma. I have been meaning to post a thread on here but haven't really done anything due to needing to sell a few cars first. mine is a GSL, 2ltr 4G52 Astron with an automatic gearbox. poo brown with vinyl roof, louvers, roof rack etc completely standard! I also have a G63B turbo engine with manual gearbox out of a starion that i plan to put in. so we may be able to get a few tips off each other! best of luck! again awesome car.
  2. I'm also curious as to where you got the wiring diagrams from? After reading your thread for the 100th time I realised the above questions were answered! But I know now I need to look for an l200 2 piece driveshaft so cheers!
  3. I see you ended up putting a g63b in, shorty I will be doing the same. Was just wondering what you had to do regarding engine and gearbox mounts? Mine will be slightly different I'd assume being a factory 2ltr auto. Car looks the biz by the way!
  4. so last nights mission was to get the rear facing seats in. I was very impressed that my wagon (which had never had the rear seat before) had all the seat mounting points and seatbelt mounting points. they all had rubber bungs to protect the tread aswell! also very impressed that the seat was out of a 940. yes the similarities are next to identical between the 940 and 740 but it was still really impressive. bring on the booze trips!!
  5. today was a good day! the owner of the vtnz station was there today, he noticed me straight away, gave a nod and got the sticker jaws are finished on the sides, and im loving it! the bloody thing is soooo high you could fit a bus underneath but will consider putting the cutties back in untill i find some legit ones. also, to find some of the parts for the wof i located a 940 wagon over in Riwaka so travelled over there to find that it was a 7 seater! so grabbed the back seat, seatbelts and trim to match for $100, Fu*king score!!! also got the exhaust manifold for $50 which i will be welding a straight to the ground pipe via electronic valve. Pics:
  6. i know this! mr policeman didnt like it too much.... the bumpstops are around 150mm long so could have had another 100mm drop if i cut them, but they measured the fuel tank when it was desprung and it was only 40mm off the ground! dont fancy a volvo bbq to be honest!
  7. would love to see the picture! let me know where i can view it! will contact you on facebook about a sticker
  8. oil cooler is well gone, it was an experiment that looked horid! thanks, i was going for a look not many had had, so i thought i would chuck the jaws and see what they would look like and im loving it!
  9. have only just got the green sticker off for it being desprung! am thinking of putting the cutties back in untill i find some proper ones overseas
  10. oil cooler is ditched, i didnt like it much was more of an experiment
  11. oh and for those wondering why my horn needs to comply, and not that its not working....? Heres why: Haters gonna hate
  12. took the bitch for a wof after putting the factory spring in (ugh, its so high) failed on a few things but nothing too major car with factory springs after warrent, currently with the old shocks out, i guess i can admit they were a little bit rooted the thing that pissed me off is that the wof people said my speedo didnt work. i showed them that the slowest speed on the speedo was 20kph and told them it wasnt a speed machine (yet) and that it couldnt get up to 20kph in their 5m long entrance. after a long arguement i convinced him to jump in the passenger seat and took it for a fang around the block. "its working now" he sez. fu**ed me off but he crossed it off.
  13. Oh yes! i almost forgot, my brother in law got some springs in christchurch and they are getting to me soon, so hopefully get this beast woffed!
  14. Todays mess around, bit of paint, nothing major. also made a hood ornament. Thats all.

  16. Kc's 1989 Volvo 740 Wagon TELL ME WHAT IM DOING WRONG!
  17. Hi there, after selling and parting out some of my projects i thought i would return to work my dream car, a dirty old volvo. Weighs 2 tonne, and has a measly 2.3L 4 cylinder with 4 speed auto. plans enginewise is either a supercharged 3.8L buick v6, or turbo'd 4.1L falcon straight 6 I also have a 1979 Mazda S1 Rx7 with a 12a bridgeport as a sunday cruiser. My 1989 Volvo 740 Brick Wagon When i first bought it around 3 years ago from Takaka. The brakes didnt work and by the time i pulled the gearbox out of the guys other volvo 740 sedan for a spare, it was dark. then i found out the lights didnt work. i was also unqualified to drive it at the time (learners license) and i had also only bought 20L of petrol to get it back to nelson. but it got there! After i got it home (Finally) it flew through a wof so i tidied it up a bit and did a little cutting of the springs After that, i decided to cut the springs alot, put white walls on it and put a loud exhaust (which will soon be replaced by straight pipes) as the paint was F**cked, i got a little crazy and aimed at a rat rod them and got to this point, (desprung) which ended with this: so while its off the road (waiting to find some standard springs) i decided to screw around with paint options and came up with this then, to current time. i decided to put a dog fighter plane style mouth on the sides

  22. tell me what im doing wrong, or give me pointers on how to do it right, or both!
  23. So the people that know me know that i have an unhealthy obsession with the rwd sigma's. iv owned a few in the past, all n/a. so when this factory turbo one popped up i had to have it. it has all the fun stuff like LSD, IRS, turbo interior, disc brakes front and rear and other cool little goodies. before i bought the turbo sigma i bought a 95 Rvr turbo which the motor will be going in the sigma. the plan is to run my red one n/a as a daily ( //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/48215-kcs-1982-skidma/ ) and the white one for cruises, grasskhana's, motorkhana's, drags, car shows etc cheers for taking a peek
  24. measured from the bonnet as that was easiest
