Wonder how many of those are still around? My money would be on the Peugeot 404, high chance the others were thrashed to death or rusted away. :-(
Of course, if any of the Mazdas survived, they'd be worth the most... :-)

Problem with the cert situation is some certifiers are gc’s, however there are some “C” s too and if they feel like making your life miserable they will. My colleague is dealing with a re-vin of a Land Rover which has a holden motor in it from way back so cert is required. How would you feel rocking up to the cert place of business and having the guy say shit like “I fucken hate pommy shit” and “go get the brakes rebuilt by xyz company. It’ll still fail the brake test though harharhar!” There isn’t an ombudsman for this industry is there?

I expect LVVTA and NZTA would take a dim view if they got multiple complaints of unprofessional conduct. I expect @KKtrips could spot the genuine complaints from all the usual fb whingers.

looking at some of the basic failures on vehicles with 12 month WOF, many should go back to 6, somewhat akin to COF. if one gets failed on same item each time, then sticker duration is reduced. the sheer amount of bald tyres, fecked wipers and illumination defects is out the gate............ as some people never actually inspect their vehicles, just expect the WOF man to be kind to them

One of my uncles had driven trucks since the 60s.  He said in those days it was part of the job to check the truck over at the start of the day, check the oil and water, then fire it up and while the diesel engine was warming up, walk around and check the lights worked, all the tyres were pumped up, wheel nuts were still tight, and so on.  Now half the drivers don't even know how to open the bonnet, just jump in and drive. :-(

The river bank next to old mechanics shops is always full of a mix of treasures

That's where they found the remains of Richard Pierce's plane.

Edit: I should also add here he reckons the e-powers are pretty underwhelming economy wise on a trip, around 5L/100km, so around the same as he used to get in a 1NZFE Corolla wagon.

Isn't that true for all hybrids? Don't they rely on regen braking to top up the battery, so only work well in urban areas, or maybe hilly winding rural areas.

    $75k though.... :o

    Small needs to be affordable.

$59,990 for the 500E Pop. Still more than twice the petrol 500.

BMW had the Mini electric on runout for $49,990.
