  12. i have been struggling with the chinese VM22 on the 140 getting an off idle stutter out, said fuck it this morning and dropped $160 clams on a genuine VM26-606 Mikuni, excited to see how this transforms the engine, everyone says they are the best carbs for the YX140s
  13. Hot tip, get some old spanners in the size you need for your wheel nuts (in my case it’s 19mm rear and 17mm front) and cut one end off and grind the stub into a tyre lever https://imgur.com/a/L405qVV
  14. why is your fuel brown? you running some kind of dank premix? that almost looks like straight oil
  15. Hey guys I’m after a couple of ct110 parts for the spare bike im gunna bring up for this ride, a headlight bucket (can be bare) and a pair of headlight mounts, in after the later model mounts that have an extra part of holes for indicator stalks, I have a good pair same as below that I incorrectly purchased that I could part trade. 17. sooooooooo i took the sweet sticker that VG / Mrs VG designed and have ordered embroided Patches. They are fully stitched 75x75mm glue backed patches with several colours on it. I have ordered 30x pieces, 10x are already spoken for so the rest will be up here, first in first served cost is $8 each, if they come in time ill post them out to some dweebs so ya can slam on ya vests for the ride. tumeke. heres a sneak peak
  18. So shakedown didn’t go so well. Aside from a flat rear tyre second gear has gone in this lifan 150, I’d say it either has worn dogs or a worn selector fork, either way I’m not pulling it apart as I just don’t have the time to get it sorted and then tested to be reliable. Last thing I wanted to do was pull apart the C50 to pull engine out as it likely won’t go back together ha, but it’s just an excuse to buy another 140 really. When I got the puncture and waiting for sparkle to go grab his Ute I pretty much pulled the engine on the side of the road, finished the swap over a few beers last night, different CDIs and looms meant a bit of a re wire. yx140 now installed. For some reason the lifan 150 blew the tail light and usd port, never had that problem with the trombone, thinking of adding a battery into this to smooth it out. Another test this arvo for 50km and it’s sorted, maybe a little rich spot mid throttle on the needle but it’s liveable. Just need to replace tail light and USB port and I’m good. Gets around 60-70 km per tank so I should be good for at least 120km with the fuel on me which should just suffice
  19. st-90 is all officially finished, penny pinchers are off on a 120km back road pohangina valley pest tomorrow so I can give it a good shakedown. Turned out the flickering headlight (even at high revs) was a dodgy Chinese reg/rec, Ben had the same problem, as I got a batch of 4 and they must have all been shit, weird silver ones I haven’t seen before. Anyway sorted now, doesn’t flicker (only at idle it does obvs) and the USB charger works a treat. I think I will bang a little toggle switch on in the headlight bucket so i can turn the headlight on and off. Fingers crossed nothing fucks out tomorrow, I already know I need to fix my poor mans scott chain Oiler / leaky output shaft seal
  20. Wee test ride conpleteed on the ST. Headlight flickers like fuck, it’s astonishingly loud, like wear earplugs, feels sketchy as fuck to ride and I think the skinny 14” rear tyre will be ripped to shreds by the end of the ride. im ready for east cape
  21. Yea was only 40 mins away in my old hometown of wangapooy, I actually knew the guy selling it. It’s a bit rougher than it looks in the photos but will tidy up alright. Can’t say no to a cheap CT
  22. Acquired another ct today, will likely bring this up at leave at j5s as a breakdown bike
  23. have been doing a bit here in there on the ST90 since finishing the CB50 for DGR last weekend. the wiring i did was rushed and hori as shit, and also took up all the room in the frame which ideally i wanted for storage (of like 1 can of beer lel). i also like the look of the stock aircleaner but cant use it as its way to small for this 150cc engine / carb doesnt line up with it or anything. so i gutted it out and turned it into a good space for everything electrical. this is ideal as if anything goes wrong in the electrical department its only 2 screws to open it and i can swap anything out. i now have this space in the frame where i will likely make a little plastic container and hold tools / spares / maybe another little fuel bottle also wanted to hold my phone for gps / filming purposes / wank factor and got this aliexpress ram mount rip off. very good quality actually, except the rubber balls arent as rubbery as my genuine ram mount. now i can pretend to me a 1200GS
