Go it home recently and thought it would be rude not to give it a start - only supplied a coil, stuck some fuel in and away it went!
Raw Fiat 650 big-block power - it seems to be a sweet runner and will make a nice upgrade from the 500 that I already have.

Long time no update, its been more than a year without any progress on the body, however I am always on the lookout for parts - then this popped up,
And thanks to a couple of OS GC's this happened.
Thanks to @GuyWithAviators and @Threeonthetree for picking, stripping, packing and sending to me.

There’s more that he hasn’t mentioned yet haha. Expanded his storage space to my parents backyard in Christchurch somehow.
Here they are!

Just a quick build here, it all started some months back when @GuyWithAviators happened upon a pile of Honda remains and got them dumped at my place.
Amongst the bits were these two
and with a combined ride coming up with Moped MC and Easties Scooters it was decided I should build the Deluxe frame into something workable, @GuyWithAviators proceeded to send me a pile of parts and below is what happened.

It has twin carbs on it too. Whats that rego number area? Chch? its early yeah?
(Oh damn... barry alert. I've just asked about Rego numbers)
Yep we picked up a factory set of twin carbs ($25), ported the head, got the cam ground. Was a bit silly realy it had nothing until about 5000 rpm the it would pull round to 7 K plus.
I am from Ashburton so I guess Barry is correct about the number plate. - Can't remember the year

About a year ago my daughter the chef suggested that a hot smoker would be the business. Not wanting to rush these things I started looking for the necessary things to build it from. First up for the heat chamber/smoke generator I picked up a very small charcoal BBQ thing that was barrel shaped. Then a friend gave me a small Morris Lubricants drum. I raided a junk pile for a gas BBQ burner (It was always going to be GAS fired) and piezo igniter. Fitted the gas burner to the charcoal BBQ, joined the two together and added a chimney also reused an old camp chairs legs for the stand.
Ended up with this. The smoke if generated but wood chips in a container in the black portion.
The females in the house want to call it "morris" however I feel "Nessie" is a better fit looking at its overall form.
The only other thing added is a fancy dual channel bluetooth attached thermometer (the chef insisted on this!)
We did tried out a beef brisket for the first thing and struggled to get to a high enough temp - we were intending to smoke for 12 hours ended up with 15 and still not quite the internal temp we were after. The result was more like jerky than we wanted - I like it - but not quite right.
I reamed out the gas jet and partially blocked off the flue and could now easily get to the required chamber temp ~ 170 deg c
Next attempt was a very large chicken - started off by soaking it in brine for 12 hours and then smoking for 3 until cooked - Manaka was used.
Looks like this at full noise.
Resulted in this, which was excellent very moist and great colour - it was very big chook very happy with the taste.

This is such a great project you have set yourself, your attitude seems to fit so well with the Old School way of thinking as well - you certainly came to the right place.
I also like the QCR shirt on the bloke at 14:20.
All the best for your work

The other good one is to just start it in gear, go for a drive with your foot on the clutch - give the throttle a few sudden stabs - that always worked
for my '71 corolla that had the same problem.
