  1. It’s been over a year since I’ve posted about the ford. I Have only just gotten it to the stage where she can be driven. The brakes took me so long to do.And all I did was replace the master, wheel cylinders and brake lines. Gave it a good clean and enjoying it before something else brakes on it.
  2. I had a malpassi in my rx3 and it used to make a strange noise. Anyways it only happened when the car hadn’t been used for a long period of time then after driving around a bit it would be fine. I ended up replacing it for a turbo smart one.
  3. It’s alive!!! Breaks need attention and the clutch needed adjustment. I haven’t taken it for a good drive yet still trying to sort a few little things.
  4. Intake came up ok as did the rest of the engine.Im happy with how it’s going to look but the blue leads will have to go.
  5. Having trouble uploading some photos.Any way engine is painted and back in.Twice:( (long story) Getting the gearbox end of it to line up was a lot of fun by myself
  6. Rusty/crusty old intake. Will give it a quick clean and paint.
  7. Dropped the intake and carby off to lawrie and his son just brought this xu1 with matching numbers, motor and box never been out of the car and it’s been in the same family from brand new.Anything that was replaced such as belts and plugs had been kept and placed in the boot.Shity photo dosnt bo it justice.
  8. Pic of the stromberg 97 and air filter I was thinking I might get.
  9. So I decided to sell the holley and intake and buy a stromberg 97. This way it will look more period correct and later on when I get some spare cash I can go for a twin carb setup. Not sure if i mentioned it but we have done away with the 8ba dizzy and gone back to the crab style. Also I needed new water pumps but it was fitted with truck pumps to clear the dizzy. These will have to be rebuilt. If I was to get the correct water pumps it would mean finding a new crank pully etc.
  10. Painted gearbox and gearbox Mount. This will be the same colour as the block
  11. A few engines Lawrie has in his shed. The red one is the old set up in his drag car,now it has a supercharged flatty in it.
  12. Engine is back together and almost ready to start. He has a list of all the wrong or bad parts that had been used in the build so I look forward to seeing that soon. Will post a vid of it running when I get the call. Also engine will be painted a dark green, close to factory colour.
  13. His 33 sedan same colour as my dad's one.
  14. So Lawrie came and picked up the engine in his model A pick up.
  15. I forgot to add that I'm sticking with the 8ba style dizzy but Iv got my self a new timing cover as well. Now I'm not a fan of how the last engine looked and being a flathead they have to look the part I really don't like the look of the holley but twin 97s will have to wait as all funds need to go into getting her going again. So to cover up some of the uglyness of the carb I was thinking a caddy style air cleaner like the one in the pic.
  16. Well it's been a long time since last update and very little work has been done to the car. Iv recently moved to a new part of Oz so the guy who was going to help me built the motor can no longer do so. On the up side Iv been in contact with a local guy name Lawrie kite who happens to be friends with the guy that brought my dads 33 sedan(now in Oz) and Laurie also ownes a ex Nz 33 sedan and they both live in the same town as I do now.Lawrie is willing to rebuild my engine for me and has infact seen my car a few times when it was back in Nz. From what if been told he is very good at building flatheads. His 33 sedan is used to tow his caravan all over Australia and he also built and owns a 9sec flathead powered drag car.I plan to go see him within the next few weeks to talk more about getting this god dam car going again. Anyway pic of the 39 in its new home
  17. Bit of scoring on the crank. Block will be sent off for sonic testing, acid bath, hone, skim the whole shebang. Fingers crossed no cracks.
  18. Now the hard part, studs have come out easy. Valves not so easy
  19. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/921/OMGV4i.jpg My Mate Matt giving me a hand,He actually did most the work and will be helping me rebuild the engine. Hyj'>
  20. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Flathead-2-Bolt-239-1939-1948-Pro-Billet-Aluminum-Distributor-w-Cap-8353-/171787931220 IT looks to be the same as this one.But i'm not really sure what i'm looking at to me honest. I had a family friend pick the parts up for me as my dad had every thing ready to switch over to elec but then it all got sold when the shed got cleared out. It was meant to be an 8ba type dizzy but they sent me this instead so I figured ill work around it.
  21. So got sum new goodies the other day,I will need to find a new timing cover to fit the dizzy. Still haven't pulled the block yet.But I had planed to buy a few more parts after X-mas until a big mother f%$kern Kangaroo jumped out in front of my family wagon so more parts will have to wait. It was the second Roo iv hit in fours years of living in rural Australia so It may be time to buy a bull bar.
  22. Sweet collection of car's you have there.
