  1. Well got coms going again with car Reflashed PCM with clean version of binary file. And it starts and runs so successful there. Fingers crossed plugged in and tunerpro is trying but still not working its a setting somewhere in the config so can't see live data or log anything.
  2. Think ive got a plan re the wastegate placement, will more or less stay in the same place just the pipework will be reconfigured a bit to transition more of a 50/50 flow to wastegate and turbo. Thanks to @Honda Ass Dragger I now have an Innovate LC-2 Wideband to install. That's led me to trying to work out how to integrate it in to the stock ecu apparently it's a piece of cake and the calibration file I have already supports it. My biggest problem I've got at moment is my lead won't talk to the car through Tunerpro it used to on my old laptop then stopped ive now got a new laptop too, Hopefully it's not a Windows 11 problem. Will do some trouble shooting today see if I can pull the bin file from PCM using a different program then try using the settings to get Tunerpro talking again. I now have a huge pile of car parts in garage that even the mrs is impressed with!
  3. I had a different image in my head and had started buying bits then found the manifold setup. Guess I kind of merged the two ideas.
  4. Noted, in my head it looked like the best flow option with priority to the turbo but able open the gate to release pressure. Will see what I can do ive built so it can be easily modified at least..... With what you see what would you do? Use one of these?
  5. Inlet is now sharing space with wastegate and exhaust supposedly really easy to flip it 180 degrees to drivers side so will do that, should make the intercooler plumbing far easier. Oh fuck me intercooler too! Injectors fuel pump fuel pressure regulator etc etc. Just got to keep chipping at it.
  6. Things to do next. Actually fit both manifolds in car finalise placement and start building the crossover pipe around front of engine. The dump pipes going to need to snake around air conditioning which is doable and AC plumbing has about 50mm of flex towards strut with little force needed to shift it (eg push with one finger) so will make a bracket to hold it there. The crossover has to duck under the manifold and fit through a 100mm gap that has Air-conditioning radiator hoses and engine loom all around it. However it's like it was meant to be there.
  7. Pull it off weld it together remembered I haven't done much tig in years! Realise I'm also actually sick and that's why I'm shaking like fuck. Happy with todays progress. Till the mrs comes out and goes oh is the new engine in didn't take long......
  8. Step two see where the wastegate can live for the sake of servicing fuck it can just live right there! Both turbo and wastegate are 63mm so a blended tee got used the bend heads to the turbo gate off ass end of the bend. Sits in a good spot plumbing back to downpipe will be very easy or straight out bonnet....
  9. More sick days, and some motivation time to see where all this turbo stuff will sit in car. Step one remove anything that wants to be in the same place, place turbo in hole break out ruler and take some measurements off dummy engine with manifold.
  10. Been off sick from work this thing was bugging me in its not far but not going status. So made the caliper bracket and a cable to suit boom! working front brakes, quick spanner check. Went to refit fuel tank.... fuck new carby is in way. Couldn't wait so filled the carb up got it warm topped it off again and went for a wee ride. It's on par with a lime scooter but would bet its got a pretty hearty top end. Kill switch a fuel tank and paint its done.
  11. So this L67 im using as a dummy block has some scored bores an cracked heads the actual bottom end is in really good order. Think for proof of concept I'll pull pistons hone bores slap it back together with fresh rings ecotec heads and send it. I'm over how long it's taking, final parts count I need exhaust tubing but mufflers are here and a blow off valve thats it! That'll get it up and running. Lots of fab work to be done but im looking forward to that. Christmas holidays should get stuff happening.
  12. I made a round 4" 4 chamber muffler for one of my Triumphs probably 20 years ago if you like the sound of a Flowmaster.... It sounded awesome like a Bathurst XU1 Torana. Was considering making a chambered and baffled muffler to damp noise right down but hopefully keep flow up. Though I think I'll check out an adrenaline r muffler first.
  13. Got to the point I realised I'm one bracket for a brake caliper away from this been usable. New rear wheel on route as I couldn't be bothered fitting a new tyre. Looking forward to saving money on lime scooters. Will ride around make sure its sorted then paint it call it done.
  14. They do sound good but rowdy on 4 cylinders 2" exhaust I'd use them. Don't even think they do 3.5" I worked at woolf mufflers for a stint back when my car was new anything bigger than 3" was unheard of. My knowledge is pretty hazy and so much new shit is out there now. I've fitted a stack of cobys to FXGT's back in day though and quite a few eg civics.
  15. Noticed at drag day your car sounds about the volume I'm after. What Size is your pipework?
  16. I have no idea I once cleaned the spark on it. It's a horizontal engine if that helps...... It's just run ive done bugger all to it haven't needed to learn anything about Chinese clones till this afternoon. @tortron
  17. Well it just seized on me......... what to do.
  18. Thread Dredge. Looking for some opinions on number of and type of mufflers i can use on my Ecotec turbo project i've bought a single Maxfab resonator to check out their quality, i'll get the exhaust fitted up to the diff with the resonator to get it running. i'll be running 3.5 inch right through and am wanting to keep it fairly quiet as i use it to tow and do mainly street driving, guess i can let the wastegate do the talking if i want it rowdy. My manifolds are going to be made from schedule tube bends so i'm hoping combined with turbo should take quite a bit of noise out before it gets to the first resonator. if i have to fit something out the back to tone it down further what would you recommend? i've got plenty of space. I will be getting this certed so any feedback on what else is needed in that regard would also be useful.
  19. Remembered I have an old engine laying around. Dummy up time for motivation! Turbo may get flipped over to drop it depending on bonnet clearance higher keeps heat away from ac system so we'll see once I take some engine bay measurements what I can get away with. Will jam wastegate somewhere very close to turbo. Opposite side manifold is a stock cast unit off Passengers side so it faces forward and under power steering pump. I've cut all the egr shit off so it's nice and simple will weld on some steam pipe bends as needed to clear everything.
  20. Evidence of someone with penis fingers having owned this setup everything is nice up until merge for the crossover pipe someone has cut it off with a grinder crooked as! No big deal as I want my crossover pipe looping front of engine rather than under to make wastegate plumbing and ground clearance better. Check this shit out
  21. Did a roadie to Taupo to collect this gear off a young fella who's mum and dad talked him into buying a turbo falcon instead of turboing his commodore..... holy shit some gear here! Big ass new intercooler, stainless steam pipe manifold with a hefty T3/T4 turbo on it wastegate and all the 3" intercooler plumbing. A modified sump as well all in all really happy should speed things along project wise. Now to get the car a wof before i start fitting stuff so I can spend year getting it ready for a cert.
  22. Looking in to the innovate stuff realised its american $ most likely so the setup i was looking at was getting to be around NZD$650 then shipping. The spartan 3 can that do 0-5v output? i see it does CAN i'm not quite there with my skill set trying to integrate into the stock network i'd likely fuck that up or spend an inordinate amount of time and money learning how. sound reasonably priced.
  23. However looking forwards to some fabrication like the exhaust and reverse inlet manifold, still wanting to look stock as possible even with the bonnet up if I can.
